Cheap and located across the street from Casino of the Downs and the weekend flea market. Place to lay my head and shower secured by a magnetic card key. Slept pretty well, and it was quiet overall. Very friendly staff willing to help, and I am sure they could have addressed some of the issues had I stayed longer than a night.

Not as good of value as I thought, and I saw where the cost savings came from throughout the experience. Taxes and fees bump up the out-of-pocket expense by around 20%. Room rate should be lower, but perhaps I was paying for proximity to several venues with a motel that performs its job—minimally. Normally, even with staff assistance, I had to insert the key between 5-25 times and perform some voodoo magic in order to get the access green light to re-enter my room. Secure, but maybe too secure. Very bare-bones space inside that needs some construction work in the bathroom. Bathroom fan gets the job done but is very noisy. There is one temperature for the shower—warm enough but only just—and it must be piped in at that temperature. The shower flow is pretty weak, but it got the job done. Heat appears to be centrally controlled. Just warm enough in the evening to be comfortable when covered by sheets and blanket. In the morning, temp seems to progressively decrease and become somewhat chilly inside. Anyway, I could not find any thermostat. Whenever I decided to try my luck with the door again by going out for a cigarette, I would usually be asked by some of the people on the street if I could spare one. Location popular among the street people too, I guess.
