Arrived late at Boston Logan with my family of five (~12:45 AM). Small line of travelers in front of us at the Enterprise kiosk in the garage, and apparently there was only one clerk to handle all of the reservations for 2 different companies, one of which was Enterprise. After waiting there for over an hour (which included watching 2 gentlemen inside the kiosk talk to the clerk for about 45 minutes with no one being given cars), I asked my wife to go inside (it was around 2AM now) and see if any companies had cars available right now. AVIS was able to put us in a minivan immediately, for nearly $200 less than our online reservation with Enterprise through KAYAK. We left the Enterprise line and had a pleasant experience with AVIS.

Car smelled a little like stale cigarette smoke at pickup, but aired out and was fine after a little while. Price was a little high but was probably more of an economic symptom than the rental company's fault.

I picked up the rental as planned and was advised that the dent and scratches on the driver's and passenger's sides were already noted and not a problem. When I returned the car, I was accused of causing the dent on the driver's side, and the person who checked the car out to me denied that he had pointed these out and asked me how they happened. I argued but had no way to defend myself. When I indicated that I would hire an attorney to review prior rentals of the vehicle I got, the salesperson said not to worry that he would note the cause of the dent as unknown. The car had a half tank of gas, and I returned it with slightly more. The bill showed up a week later and was $95 higher than promised. I have rented from Enterprise many times, and this was the first time that I had problems like this. I will not be renting from them again and would advise anybody picking up a car with prior dents or less than a full tank get a hard copy of the documentation. The interaction with Enterprise spoiled my only evening in Boston, and I waited almost a week for the bill. I have such a bad taste in my mouth that I will not challenge the extra charge and chalk it all up to my misplaced trust.

It takes an effort to find one thing i liked about this experience -- that is the location, which is in the middle of Boston, and not at a far away place. What could have been better is the service! The agent at the location (200 Stuart street, Boston) gave me such a bad service, I would never use Enterprise again. She wanted to get rid of me in 10min.

Pro's 1. I thought the rental agents were polite, and efficient. 2. I enjoyed driving a new hybrid car. The gas mileage was amazing! Con's 3. The gas tank was only 3/4 full. It would have been more helpful to start off with a full tank. 4. My biggest complaint is the high cost of renting a car for week. It makes it very difficult to rent a car longer at these prices!

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I booked this for a week and got my confirmation. Should have been a simple transaction. Upon arrival, the place was CLOSED before my flight even landed. There should be notes of some kind that the place would be closed before we landed. When we went to pick up the car when they were open following day they would not honor our reservation. The thin guy was SUPER unhelpful and rude. I kept my cool but he gave no options other than an extraordinarily high price per day. The lady didn’t help either. Left us stuck without options. Another guy came in and asked if we were helped and we explained that the other guy was of no help. He found is a rental. We got a car finally but for 3x our rate and we paid more for a few days than the entire week we had rented. WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE EVER. I don’t understand why people treat the ones who put and keep them in business like crap for no reason. If we were ugly or rude, I could understand but we literally just kept quiet and wanted a car. TERRIBLE.

Watch were they rent the car to you. I was picking up the car at Logan Airport but they had me piking it up in down town Boston. Ended up having to cancel the reservation and go with Avis.

When we returned our rental car, Antoine (from Brazil), surprised us with a generous lift to the terminal. He saw that we had a lot of luggage and were traveling with 2 small kids. His service was above and beyond expectations and earned our loyalty to Hertz for life!

Prepaid $800 of car booking with Kayak and Hertz said they couldn’t see that I had prepaid when picking up the car despite having my booking. So far it seems that $800 has been stolen by one of the parties.

Hertz claimed when we called the customer service number that they accepted expired licenses providing the state still allowed us to drive with them. Then the local place denied us that stating hertz had a different policy than the states. Bait and switch on Hertz part. Ended up costing us a lot more to switch to a different driver last minute. Very dissatisfied with that experience. However the people at the location were kind and tried to help us make the best of a loss of a couple extra hundred dollars.

We rented a Ford Transit Van to carry the seven of us around Massachusetts during a seven day vacation. Best decision ever! Avis accommodated us above and beyond. Athough we picked the van up at Cambridge Street, we were provided the option to return it directly to the airport. This worked perfectly for our group. The van was clean and in great shape. More though, it got excellent gas mileage for us and was in great shape mechanically. Definitely ten stars for Avis!

Nightmare! I booked months ago and they did not want to honor my original price quoted and reserved. Said it was for a Boston downtown pickup that was now closed at 9 pm. took over an hour and a half to get them to figure it out and honor it. It was at night and we were tired from trip from west coast. Still had to drive an hour and a half to our destination. And the Avis staff didn't act like they knew what they were doing (two of them). When we returned car at Manchester as contracted for they charged me almost $500 in extras. Returned with full tank of gas, etc. Won't be using Avis again.

I am very happy with the service provided by (1) the woman (82298) who checked me in late evening on Aug. 26, (2) the various Avis staff who helped me find my glasses an hour after I left them in the car when returning it last weekend and (3) the gentleman who helped resolve a billing issue today over the phone (Luis, 3848). All of them made me want to use Avis again in the future.

There were 4 or 5 agents serving dozens of renters. I’m guessing they knew how many cars were rented. It took me 90 minutes to get a rental that was already reserved. I will rent from a different agency in the future. The agent was not paying attention to his two way radio when the vehicle was identified so even my time when I got to an agent was far longer than it should have been.

Don’t believe Avis saying they will give a spotless clean rental car. The truth is the car I rented is still dirty. Water bottles left from the previous renters and I can still see their dirt all over. I have to clean it myself. Also, pay close attention to the bill/invoice and check the taxes, they so many hidden fees (parking charges and etc)

I had a limit on my credit card that was not quite enough, but I worked that out with my bank. But then Budget surprised me with the additional $200 deposit. If I had only known about it (and I read everything on the site) I'd have handled it the once, but having to handle it a 2nd time made me an hour late. Also, I left one of those magnetic phone hangers on the vent in my rush to vacate the car upon its return. That stupid thing was $25. It would have been awesome if they found it and mailed it to me. Lastly, the exterior of the car was not too clean when I got it, but I returned it with 2800 miles worth of bugs, so fair enough. I would go with Budget again!

I liked the price, and that really was about it. It took a hour and half to get the car for pick up. I then got to the car and two other gentlemen were there saying they were assigned it. One got it and drove off with it. I had to go back in and get reassigned another car. I got the new car and went to check out and then the attendant said I didn't have permission to take this car and it wasn't my car. It took him another five minutes, at which time my patience was running thin, before I was able to finally leave. Finally, for car drop off, it felt like Mad Max with people yelling everywhere and just seemingly waving randomly while workers are standing all over the place in a unorganized manner making it confusing on where to actually go safely.

Pickup took more than 1 hour. I had to wait in line for most of the time. Finally after 1 hour another person came to help. Also an individual took a break during this time. There should be a rule that says once the number of people are 2x the people who are working and additional person should be added until the is reduced to when only as many people are in line as people on the counter. Very disappointing in this way.

They need to have service of the cars as a priority. The person ahead me was given a car that had a flat tire. In the car that I rented, the tire pressure indicated that it had low pressure. I called the roadside assistance with the company and was told to take the car to an auto service. I did it and was told that all of the tires were set at 30, when they should have been 35. I was unhappy about the time and inconvenience.

One hour wait to pick up car. There were 20-25 people in line to pick up cars. At the most -there were 3 agents staffed up front to help out. Part of the time there were only 2 agents staffed up front. Coffee breaks? It was very frustrating for everyone. Not sure what the issues were but it all seemed poorly run.

Traveling during the Delta Variant rise is challenging, to say the least. Logan airport was a nightmare, with hoards of travelers trying to get on the bus to the Rental car place. Once we got there, there was a HUGE long line at Thrifty. There were several in the line (including the man behind me who would NOT put 6 feet between us) without masks. Once we got to the counter, we could barely understand the gentleman helping us, but he sent us out to the pick up place, where there was confusion and what appeared to be a lack of smaller cars. They asked if anyone would take a 7 passenger mini-van, which we did not need, but we took it to get out of the airport! It proved to be an excellent ride for us, and brought us safely on our travels. The biggest shock was the ease of the return on 83rd Street in Manhattan. We must've been out of there in 10 minutes or less. In balance, all was great, but the beginning was rocky, so we only said Good.

More than 2 hours of waiting in the airport for pickup. More than 30 customers waiting in the line and only one staff. She tried to upsell more than $300 which she did for a larger size car and lots of other things. When I went to the parking, they actually gave me an SUV which was very smaller than what we originally paid for! Drop off in Newyork also more than one hour of waiting.

Take the shuttle from your terminal to the car rental area (they're all in the same place, which is smart). It's quick and easy. Thrifty was super efficient and friendly, had us out of there in 5 minutes. Drop off was just as quick and easy. Excellent experience overall.

It was a little disconcerting (but very fast) that they had only one person working to check in vehicles that were dropped off. So I just left the vehicle without talking to anyone (but also without confirmation of fuel level, and no damage done to the vehicle)

I made our reservation through Priceline. Thrifty and Priceline refuse to work together. I spent hours trying to contact Thrifty to sort out our reservation. When we arrived to pick up our rental the charges were more than $300 than the Priceline quote. The gentleman helping us at Thrifty was very nice and helpful but had to work for about 20 minutes to sort out the pricing. We reserved a luxury vehicle and received a Versa which we was fine with us but we paid luxury pricing. There are errors on our bill including double charged for a $50 toll (we paid for an EZ Pass to avoid toll charges). Drop off is confusing, you just leave your car in a designated space but we were not forewarned we would not need to interact with a human which made us uneasy. We were charged for an additional hour which is an error.

Car had good fuel economy.The car was dirty when we picked it up. There were crumbs and debris all over the dash. We could live with that. The worst was drop-off. We dropped off after hours, but didn't realize it would be when we picked the time. There were basically no instructions so we called Thrifty. The support person just read a script and hung up on us. Super stressful and something that should have been explained at pickup.

We arrived and checked in fine and was told to go outside and the rep at the dollar booth would tell us where our vehicle was - we got outside to a mass of other people (+/- 30) who were all waiting and there were no cars. The attendent took our contract and said someone would call our name when our car was ready. We had to wait over an hour and a half to get a car - missed dinner reservations and ruined our weekend get away.

The dollar counter was closed, and Hertz, Thrifty, and Dollar rentals were serviced by three representatives. It took 90 minutes from arrival to drive off the lot. Furthermore, I was frustrated by a lack of transparency in pricing. I paid over $100 in fees and taxes at the counter. That’s unacceptable.

The value was great! It so happened that there was receipt in the car from the previous renter which indicated they rented the vehicle from a difficult rental company. For the same duration, my rental company charged hundreds dollars less. Drop off was super easy and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Had to wait over an hour and a half for a car to be provided even though I had a paid in full reservation. Was in the middle of moving and it was a complete nightmare - this setback threw off the entire schedule and wasted the whole day. Huge inconvenience.

Seemed like the check in counter was under staffed in Boston. Fairly long wait. Front desk lady was very nice. Car was not real clean and reeked of weed. Too long of a wait at check-in to take it back so we bought Fabreeze and sprayed daily. Returned at Bradley Airport in Hartford, CT. Absolutely no signage indicating where the Dollar return lot was located. Used Google and was take to an old Dollar lot that was closed and no longer in use. Tried calling the 800# and the lady had no idea where the return was. She also had no idea if Dollar had combined with another car company-turns out they are now part of Hertz. Found this out by finally pulling into the Avis lot and asking if they could help me.

Unfortunately, there was no chance for me to like anything as E-Z did not have my reservation on file. I spent over an hour at the counter looking to see if the order was wrongfully placed for a different day, if it was set for a different pickup location, or if the rental company had been changed (I individually checked with Alamo, Advantage, Hertz, Enterprise, and more) to unfortunately find out there no company had my reservation on file. By the time the entire ordeal was done, and the option was to reserve a new car, we were so late that we decided to completely change plans and not rent a car for the day. This put extreme stress on myself with family visiting town and I am incredibly frustrated with this experience. Please contact me at mpbrooks16@gmail.com or (708) 212-6034 to advise next steps - I kindly ask to be refunded for both the car rental and the insurance policy as neither were used.

The signage for the desk was difficult to find, the car exterior was dirty including windows and mirrors. The gas wasn t full and was low about 100 miles, I filled it a day later and drove that far before gauge returned to the point where I picked it up

Staff at counter was good, requested a vehicle with "in" state tags. Was told the vehicle had "Massachusetts tags".... it did not, then the gentleman in garage fought with me when I got to the vehicle with "Virginia tags!!!"..... He was very rude and he had 6 vehicles of same model with "Massachusetts tags" but wouldn't let me switch!!!! Ridiculous.....Using another rental company bc upon returning the vehicle I couldnt find anyone to check me out???? So I proceeded to the rental counter and NO ONE there either at 730am in the morning, it's been a few days and yet to recieve my receipt..... Last time I will use a second rate rental company, I travel for a living and if your a businessman dont use EZ car rentals!!!!

There was one staffers who was helpful and apologetic regarding poor signage at the airport. I also appreciated the man who checked the car out and was careful and helpfulThe counter staff were rude and simply did not care. They blamed me for missing the counter sign and could not have been more dismissive and unhelpful. With that attitude, I will avoid EZ rental in the future.

There is always a long line & a long wait to register. The staff is friendly & helpful. I asked about specials; I was told I could upgrade for $45 but was not told that was based on $15 per day. My total was greater than $45. I want a refund for the overage. Returning the car was super simple.

The wait time was unacceptable. The PRICE GOUGING WAS EVEN MORE SO!! Will never use Payless Car Rental ever again!!!! Period!!!!!!!

Pick up was good. We even got stopped on our way out because someone had just been notified there was a nail in one of our car's tires — they brought us a new car quickly. Flat tire on the highway averted! My only complaint was the price -- but that seems to be a universal problem in the days of covid.

I was able to cancel my reservationI have no confidence in renting with Advantage after my last week experience in Denver. I was given a vehicle in disrepair and was very unsafe, putting me in danger and great discomfort and inconvenience.

The staff at the counter were really great. I was in a hurry and a panicky mess, but they helped me with check in and got me to my car (I even made it to my meeting on time).The signage about where the desks were for check-in versus where the cars are could be clearer. However, I found the staff to be helpful in finding the correct location.

Drop off was EASY. Airport shuttles were often. I appreciated that the shuttle driver to the airport reminded everyone to check for personal items we may have left in the rentals before he departed.

I didn't rent from National. I made a res a few weeks ago, but I cancelled it. I got conflicting emails saying it was cancelled and others saying it was still pending. I rented a car from Sixt at BOS airport. Bob 415 663-8305

Excellent staff at pick up and drop off.Car smelled like cigarette smoke and wasn't very clean. Line to pick up car at the airport was VERY long, took over an hour to get the car.

Easy pick up and drop off for the most part at the airport except the National employees weren’t at the counter when flights got in making a great many people standing in line for both National and Alamo so the Alamo people could help us.Car smelled like something had been either in the car and got moldy or a wet animal had been inside causing the first day to be almost Unbearable to drive in.

No one at counter at BOS upon arrival at 10:30pm. No sign saying to go up to where cars are. Finally found my way there. After saying they didn’t have the 8 seat suburban available that I had reserved, they eventually found one. Everything was great after that.

They had issues with their credit card reader/computer and I had to wait for them to call my credit card company to verify it. This was at 1100pm after a long day of travel.... so it was a little annoying.The car was pretty beat up on the exterior and interior. Good news was they didn’t charge me for the condition of the car. I would have spent most of the rest of night circling things on the form otherwise.

Easy to pick up and drop off and the shuttle was also expedient to and from the airport. Car was new with 300 miles.The cost was higher than quoted after all the incidental tax was added. Probably a state issue but should have been an up front cost quote.

Left iPad in glove compartment. When I returned to the car rental area the iPad hadn't been handed in to the manager or lost property after the car was cleaned which was disappointing. I couldn't check car myself as it had been rented out even though I had returned within 3 hours of having left the car back
