Pros:The car was very nice, and pickup was efficient
Cons:I prepaid the reservation on line, assuming that was standard and would expedite pick up. Then I had to change the date of the pick up...and it cost me a $100 cancellation fee, even tho I had already booked the new reservation with Hertz. Apparently the confirmation email from the first reservation stated there was a fee for cancellation, but since I cancelled more than 24 hrs in advance and rebooked a car, it is pure price gouging that they charged this fee. Will never book a car this way again

Pros:Easy car pickup, wonderful location, can leave car parked for the entire duration of the rental for free. Super friendly staff at the counter.
Cons:The brakes were grinding, the tires were so bad I couldn't make it to my house, I had to walk .2 of a mile with all of my suitcases, not impressed
Pros:Staff at Lebanon was friendly. There was no attendant at return location in Dulles Airport (Sterling). I had to go to Avis counter to return the keys.
Cons:Car was not clean. It smelled of cheap odor covering spray. Not pleasant.

Pros:This was my first time ever renting a car, so I was a little nervous, but Avis was such a great company to go with! The whole process was very easy, I spent no more than 10 minutes picking up my car and even less time dropping it off in the city I traveled to. Thanks Avis!
Cons:The only issue I had was that my credit card expiration date was entered incorrectly, and I had to call to correct this issue the following week. It took about 20 minutes over the phone to get it resolved but everything else went great!
Cons:I showed up at the time of my reservation only to be told there was no car available within a 100-mile radius. When I called customer service (the guy at the desk was apologetic, but he could do nothing), the conversation was Kafkaesque. They suggested that I take a taxi to another location with a car two hours away (and two hours farther from my final destination) - as if I had all the time in the world to drive around the country making up for their mistake. (Another couple, that had reserved a car to drive to Boston, was told they could pick up a car in Boston.) They refused to guarantee me a car locally the next morning or offer any financial compensation. As if they were being extremely generous, they did offer to cancel the reservation! Luckily, another local company had a car - but I'm never using Avis again.
Pros:Clear, honest and focused on getting you on your way
Pros:The staff was very helpful and friendly. He tried to take photos of the vehicle but it was so filthy you couldn't see if there was any damage to the body of the suv.
Cons:I drove the car out of the lot and went straight to a gas station to clean the back window. I had zero visibility. I also cleaned the side view mirrors. My pants were so dirty from entering and exiting the suv, I had to return home and change my clothes.

Cons:We arrived 15 min early for pick up and the car wasn't ready yet. Also, I wish they didn't charge a one-way drop off fee for in state drop off. Finally, the clerk couldn't tell me much about drop off at the airport - given it's the airport, I just expected she'd know more. Perhaps she was new.
