The bathroom in the Standard Queen Room I was in was a bit aged, but it was clean. If it's not important to you that the bathroom appears to have been refurbished recently, then this is excellent value for money in the theatre district of central Melbourne, and the staff were friendly & helpful. Look forward to staying there again on my next trip :)
Location, Location, Location
It was so close to everywhere we wanted to go.
Location was good
Room was dirty, hairs in bath, paper in toilet, smudges on mirror. Fridge needed defrosting. Staff not friendly and were very unhelpful.
Th reception staff were very helpful, umbrellas, taxis , luggage minding
room 609 very small and cramped
Excellent location, close to theatre, public transport and plenty of food options. Relatively quiet, bit of noise outside on Saturday night but you expect that. Inside the hotel it was lovely and quiet.
I stayed for 2 nights and the first night was disrupted by the goings-on in a nearby room, which resulted in no sleep. Upon my complaint the staff were very obliging in moving me to a different room for my second night, which was far superior than the first room and much quieter. I did not want to cause any trouble, and the staff were most obliging in accommodating my request which I very much appreciate. The location was also fantastic and extremely convenient.
I'm not entirely sure that the facilities were value for money - I've received the same in other hotels for much less.
Not much, the online photos and description of the hotel are misleading, the location is probably the only ok thing about it.
The staff were not freindly at all, I feel as though I would not have booked this hotel had I seen more accurate photos online of its appearance/internal, especially the bathroom, it was aweful. Also I have heard bad thing about the melbourne Novatel and I now know that these are both accor hotels, which I will now stay well away from.
I found the bed very hard and pillows too flat.
Friendliness of the staff, food, quality for money
On our first morning the girls on the reception were very helpful giving directions to where the best place to shop for bargins and how to use the trams
the high expense of the mini bar. wanting a bottle water was a cost of $4 when down at the 7/11 was $2
