I stay in a LOT of motels around the country and this one is probably the worst. There was no hot water, no air conditioning (it was July), there was a pile of boards and other construction debris in front of my door, half of the electrical outlets didn't have covers on them (including the one for the broken AC) and the sheets had holes in them with what looks like cigarette burns. The lady checking me in was stoned. I did not try the breakfast...with the shape of the room I was afraid I'd get food poisoning! I stayed here because of a late night flight snafu as an emergency, but I should have just slept in the airport. It would have been cleaner and safer to do.

The place looks like a hotel that charges per hour to the local hookers on the outside. The lobby is completely locked down at night even to those who have a room key to get in. My room had no hot water, no alarm clock, no phone and a tv that couldn’t even be placed on the tv stand due to a short cord. So they placed it on a side table next to the stand. Channels were very minimal in selection. I had to watch the super bowl on my phone. Breakfast was horrible. Muffins that were stale, toast or bagels, coffee or green tea only. No sugar just sweetener. Juice machine was empty of both juices.

After checking in we went to our rooms and after seeing them we immediately went back to the front desk and canceled our stay and asked for a refund. Dirtiest hotel I've ever been to. Both rooms were nasty, and for non-smoking sure smelled like cigarettes. The only part of the hotel that looked like the pictures online was the front desk.

Pros:The location is pretty great if you need to be close to the airport. It's essentially across the street and there's a shuttle back and forth to the airport if you need it. The staff is also very accommodating and kind. That's about it for positives, though. The wifi is free, there was a mini fridge and a microwave, it was only about $50, and the blackout curtains work well if I really have to reach for something more to say.
Cons:The first room we were placed into reeked of cigarettes and I found about 6 cigarette butts sitting behind the dresser in pretty plain sight. So that alone had me asking for another room, but I could tell if I had inspected closer I would've found some other stuff. The second room smelled a little better and didn't have cigarettes in it, but there was a combination of hair, eyelashes, and brush hairs in the bed and sheets. The bathtub was clogged with the previous patrons' hair. The air conditioner was extremely loud and unresponsive. The carpeted floor was so dirty that it turned the bottom of my white socks a dark brown. There were tons of stains on all the chairs. And I previously stated that the wifi was free, but it was out for half my night stay. Also, I expected it to look a little rundown, but I was surprised with how run down it looked.

Pros:It was convenient. The staff was nice.
Cons:The room: ripped comforter, peeling wallpaper, dirty bathroom floor, shower plugged up, and ashes everywhere. The motel: boarded doors and windows, drab lobby, long-term residents, and very basic amenities. I would only stay here again if it was the only place to stay in Romulus.
