Pousada Villa Carmo

Charming hotel, feels like a old facienda. Lovely terrace with views over the port. Confortable beds, nice common areas. Old wooden floor gives an impression of tradition. Best thing of all: the breakfast! Next to the hotel there is a nice cafe where they serve the best caipirinha, and net to it there is an italian restaurant.

At night the area around the hotel changes. I would not stroll around for long looking for those nice places.

Two of the rooms are large. I think it is no. 1 and 4. No. 4 has a view of the sea and no. 1 is to the street. The other rooms are small. The best thing about the hotel is the location. It is in a charming old part of town, with old beutiful houses. Not too many turists, just outside Pelourinho. Very nice host (italien) and staff. The host speeks english. Nice breakfest with view of the sea. The hotel accepts international credit cards. Good value for money.

Only a small part of the ATMs in town accept international credit cards. There is a Citybank in the lower part of town and their ATMs accept international creditcards. In some smaller towns in Brasil it is imposible to get money.
