Matress Garden
Almost everything. If you want to get COVID come here. - Bad cleaning and bed/room making - we found hair and body hair in the floor, dirt and garbish under the bed, spots on the sheets. We change room 5 times because of bad cleaning. - The restaurant has no contingency measures for COVID - clients enter with no hand desinfection, the food is exposed as well the dishes. Clients use the same tweezers to take the food and we didn't see the employees to desinfect it as they mentioned. - Pool with sand on the floor (day after day) and mud (can't describe what it is) in the walls. They only put the cleaning robot that doesn't clean well. The hammock chairs hasn't a pit of desinfectant between clients. - Pillows has no protection, just the sheet, so you sleep above the other's saliva. Bad experience.

Hotels location is fantastic. By the beach and popular Carihuela
Hotel great location great reception always very busy so difficult to ask questions
Reception very busy
The location was perfect, close to the beach. Backyard with a nice swimming pool and relaxing atmosphere.
The room was not as expected, have booked better rooms at 4 star hotels for the same price. The bathroom was old, the bathtub looks actually so old that it was uncomfortable for a shower.
The facilities were good.
Felt staff were not use to Asian people. Some staff were good others not so good.
Excellent
Trying to get to shower over the bath as my husband is partially impaired vision & found it very awkward to get in & out . Also I found it not good idea .

Location
I was there for 4 days, even though the “clean my room “ sign was put on the door, they only made the bed & changed the towels, room was never cleaned. Shower kept going from hot to icy cold, no matter where you put the temperature. Pool was only open from 11am -2pm, which I was not told about.
Love the location and the food and service is excellent, that’s the reason we return every year to the same place.
There’s nothing to dislike about this property
We have stayed here twice before. Great location. Breakfast selection is great. Comfy bed!
One wee minor thing, would be if the bar could stay open a bit longer.
Everything. Stay here often
Cheaper price of course
Bedrooms were in excellent decorative condition. Good amount of space for our 2 and 4 year olds to play. Communal areas like the lounge were clean and spacious.
Coffee wasn't so nice at breakfast, filter coffee would be nicer.
Liked the suites they where lovely and spacious very clean and a lovely balcony with a jacuzzi. The views are lovely and very helpful staff. Would go back again. You have Torremolinos and Benalmadena port at walking distance.
I did not see much cleaning round the garden of the suites.
The overall cleanliness and presentation of the hotel plus the professionalism and efficiency of all staff was exceptional and beyond our expectations. First class!
Very centrally located. Very close to the beach and sea. Also close to airport, shops and all other amenities. Breakfast selections available were excellent as were the staff. The manager was pleasant and made himself available to out motorcycle group
Rooms just a little plain as dated but very serviceable if you’re not overly fussy
Location is key
Food - cold and sometimes warm Microwave was being used a lot
Nice breakfast, room lovely, overlooking pool
Everything fine for the time of year
Location to beach was awesome.food was good, beds were very comfy.
Staff could have been a little more friendly.
Good location, interesting hotel pictures of those who have stayed there before, spotlessly clean
This is the 4th occasion that we have stayed at this hotel, on all other occasions I have been more than satisfied. On this occasion we were allocated a room at the back oF the hotel overlooking a car park and rubbish recycling bins. I did not spend the best part of £1200 pounds, suffer the roadworks on the M23 and a nearly 3 hour easyjet to sit on a small balcony overlooking the tatty car park and bins I would much rather stay at home
Everything all the staff they were so helpful and friendly.
All I can say the staff were all fantastic, from the reception team to the bar , the rooms were spotless
Rooms were lovely with a stocked mini bar. Lovely view of the sea from room
Pool was hardly open, sun loungers could have had cushions for comfort, evening meal could be provided with a soft drink
Excellent location with easy walking distance to all amenities. Good choice in restaurant for non vegans. Beds are very comfortable. Greeted with a smile from all staff. Would stay again but would request a room on the sunny side of hotel.
We had a room which didn’t get any sun on the terrace but for a 2 night stay it was fine. I’m vegan not a lot to choose from in restaurant. They need to ensure that all food is labelled correctly stating what it is and with all ingredients listed.
Food in general very good, breakfast show cooking a hit or miss. One night was awfully bad, we are nothing, wine is overpriced as is water and other drinks
No children entertainment and evening entertainment was appalling
I liked the hotel, it was well kept, the location and the friendly cleaning staff. If you had a problem it was delt with there and then..
The noise made by other guests was annoying and the banging of room doors was irritating. I found that in the dining room the waiting staff were quite stuffy. I was staying on my own and on a couple of occasions I had finished my dinner and it wasn't until then that I was asked by the waiting staff what I would like to drink. Also the day before I left the dressing gown given to me to wear during my stay was removed from the room to be laundered (quite odd seeing as I was there until the next day) and not replaced.
We like everything about this "old world" charming hotel. Pez Espada is clean and I mean it looks, smells and feels clean. The staff are wonderful and the food (we stayed half-board) is excellent. Another two points well worth noting here are 1) the hotel is front-line to the beach with no road to cross; therefore great for families, no road noise and lovely sea views and 2) this hotel does disabled access very well. If you have a disability, you can book the Pez Espada with confidence.
No faults at all for our stay.
great location and friendly staff. dining room lovely.Use to stay in sol aloha and timor sol,but would now stay at pez espada providing they are priced correctly and don't change character as has happened in sol aloha which i have stayed at over the last 25 years.
sun beds could be more comfortable. rooms could be updated and bathroom toilets looked a bit worn as in scratched etc. do not like cats around the grounds. This became a major problem in so; aloha.
Great location
Nothing
We really liked our stay. Airy room, with a nice view and comfortable bed. Good selection of breakfast and dinner, friendly staff everywhere. We’ll definitely be back.
There was no soap/soap dispenser by the sink, only by the bath tub.
Breakfast was good
The staff we met on arrival we found not helpful, one gentlemen snatched a 20 Euro note from my hand ,which I found very rude please spend more time training them in good Manners, and a smile would be nice
Location
Food was cold breakfast n evening meal ants in the first room had to move rooms after one night !
Location what I love.
They Did not clean the room e Everyday.
Lovely hotel, clean and comfortable with great staff. Excellent breakfast, comfy beds.
Cleaners ignore the „do not disturb“ sign
breakfast was very good lots of selection.
the hotel was very good with lots of history from the 50s and 60s, which I really liked but the hotel staff were miserable especially the restaurant staff they couldn't even say good morning . the best staff were the house maids very helpful and willing to talk to you.
Nice Hotel a little dated in places but the rooms were lovely, spacious, clean and had an extra large bed. Buffet breakfast was lovely. On site gym. Great location. Easy access to the Marina and Carrihuela. Lovely walks, nice beaches. Thumbs up from me !
Fantastic, friendly and helpful staff from reception to cleaners. Especially Mary from the bar - she put so much effort in making our drinks delicious, and served them every time with a big smile! Room was very comfortable and clean, bed was huge. Breakfast had a large variety of options, excellent quality food and drinks and even bubbly was available. Overall appearance of the hotel was clean and classy. Next time in Torremolinos, I will be staying here again.
I cannot fault anything. It was perfect.
Lovely clean, fresh n bright hotel. Plenty of variety of fresh food available. Chef always available to cook omlettes ect. Very spacious throughout. Not far from Barricuda Hotel
Breakfast. Cooked meals wer luke warm or cold. Maid service couldn't wait to be in room
Excellent choice of food
Great location with direct access to the beach with countless restaurant options. Would be heaving in summer but would love to come back. The rooms are comfortable. Breakfast has literally everything you could ever want. Only a €20 taxi from Málaga airport.
They could be more environmentally friendly, there is still a lot of individually wrapped things in plastic packaging in the rooms.
The property is very nice clean
The service of the restaurant not polite they must be smiley and help the visitor who don’t know there rules
Brekfast and dinners was so delisious . Very big large selection of dishes, excellent food and even better restaurant service. I admired their professionalism and the class with which they serve clients, especially the boss :)
Maybe bathrooms need renovation
Fine. But you are now not offering half board... in Feb. 14 to 28th.

Everything was spot on
Fabulous hotel, staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Our junior suite was amazing, fabulous view and jacuzzi in balcony was great. Breakfast and dinner was great lots of choice.
€60 to stay in room longer, we had a late flight and if we had paid the extra we still would have had to leave room before we were wanting to. However the hotel had a curtesy room that we were able to use which was excellent so over all it was a great solution
Location
The location to the beach
The safe and television didn’t work The room was very dusty.
Hotel is lovely and well looked after by the great staff there, location fab right next to beach .
Entertainment could be better, but animation team good.
Staff are great Food is lovely Restaurant is nice Bar prices are fair Grounds are nice Rooms are ok Bed comfy Pillows comfy Location is great
House keeping standards in rooms is poor. Thin walls between rooms, could hear neighbour snoring and talking. Bathroom smelled stale and damp. Weird old & new bathroom - with a leak, and silverfish for company. Club room not worth the extra cost as have stayed in better quality standard rooms elsewhere. Entertainment is terrible - always old and boring, it’s not just old people who stay in winter and even older people don’t like the same rubbish every time they visit - get some more modern / younger performers who actually make an effort to do something classic but with a fresh touch.
Bed was comfy and room very clean.
The property is very dated (decor, style, furniture). The pool is not heated so could not be used. The gym area was being refitted so could not be used either. This is not what one expects of a 4 star hotel.
Good location for the beach, marina, Benalmadna and Torremolinos.
Nothing to dislike.
The attention to detail in the restaurant and the excellent service Made to feel welcome by the staff in reception
Nothing everything was lovely
> fantastic breakfast to kick off the day > an excellent staff in all parts of the hotel > extremely good evening entertainment > delighted to hear that the gym is being renovated
Nothing at all
Excellent location Great and helpful staff and clean
Two single bed joined together and the 1 of which has a wonky legs doesn’t help. Very poor beds.
The staff made the stay very enjoyable
Bed linen very good but towels could do with replacing for new
I loved the breakfast, I have no complaints, everthing was perfect
I think that the staff could definitely be more enthusiastic. There was a miscommuncation during our stay at dinner time regarding the bill. When I spoke to the waiters and they gave me the outcome of the bill it did not meet the exact amount I actually had to pay at checkout. Not sure If i overpaid or there was some mistake on my bill the nightbefore. Also I paid extra for a cake for my daughter's 7th birthday and the presentation and staff was poor to say the least. They definitely did not make it feel special or make much effort. Unfortunate because if they would have it would have been absolutely perfect, everything else was amazing.
Where it is located
access to garden with need of a walking stick could be improved
Hotel has everything. I especially liked that the vegetarian options are increasing at evening meal times. Thank you.
Bad breakfast and the staff are not friendly at all. Room service is also not good.
Location very good, apart from Reception all the other staff are very welcoming and pleasant, When we visited both Catering and house keeping was excellent, none of the pools were open and no kids entertainment was available during the complete week. This was during the 7th -11 December.

Good food, friendly waiters, good location
Ants in bathroom, reception staff not so helpful
Location
Reception & dining room staff grumpy Ants in bathroom
I was very happy that the hotel was near my friend’s house who I had come to celebrate Christmas with and due to airline problems I arrived nearly 12 hours late the man at reception was very helpful will be back again early next year thanks
Nothing really everyone was very friendly and helpful
Location is great, beds super comfy, bar prices not bad
Rooms are a bit dated and tired, the wash basin had a big crack in it and as usual with most Spanish hotels the food is never hot enough
Location
Bathroom a little tired
The room we booked was fantastic
The Christmas Day gala dinner was terrible
this is a well run comfortable hotel. The food is excellent, both breakfast and dinner and the staff are friendly and helpful. Evening entertainment is reasonable sometimes very good. The room we had was ample for size and we always felt at home there Quiet environment for sleeping. Seemed well worth paying extra for a pool view room as they have a good size balcony and are on the sunny side. A high floor is also desirable in the winter months as this maximises hours of sunshine. Lower floor rooms get blocked out by adjacent buildings..Overall good value.
The area for sun beds is a little way from the pool and on grass. We thought this arrangement wasnt the best. Also loses sun mid afternoon.
Hotel had everything you want for a time away from home. If you have any special requirements let the hotel know.
Everything was great, very good breakfast everything available
Liked everything
Every thing ! We were upgraded to 3 junior suits and as it was my birthday it just added to a perfect weekend
The location easy to get into Malaga Every thing was prrfect
Breakfast was very good, service excellent
Food and entertainment
Lots of ants in bed room bath room dead and alive.Infested
Fabulous hotel in a great location. Food and entertainment excellent. Very clean , friendly staff . Our 2 nd stay we would definitely recommend this hotel and will be staying again in this future
Nothing to dislike
Rooms were decent size and clean, staff was helpful
Run down facility, stale breakfast, smell in the corridors
Very well situated, close to everything you need, restaurants, cafes, personnel was very helpful and offered great suggestions for things to do
Room was very tired needs a re fit . Room 503 . No TV guide in room
The bad
Noisy from yard
Location and accomodation facilities. Excellent breakfast buffet.
Balcony had good sea views, room good size
Bathroom needs updating with walking shower, also TV
Only a short stay of 2 nights but couldn’t fault it, the staff in all areas were very good, helpful and very pleasant
Nothing
Very clean rooms and comfortable. Loved the jacuzzi in the suite rooms.
Not ideal for young couples or young groups. Location isn’t great, mainly for older people. Had to travel 30min drive to get to main town centre for the nightlife for young people. Other than that, it is right on the beach which is great.
Location , value for money, customer service, the food , hospitality and so on , it was a great experience, hopefully to comeback soon.
The remote control wasn’t working, but wasn’t a big deal as didn’t watch much tv .
Pool was closed for no apparent reason as weather was great
Loved the hotel! It was one of the original hotels and Frank Sintra visited! The location is great fir discovering the area as there are buses very close by. The hotel is right on the sea front. With lots of restaurants nearby.
The hotel is a design icon of post modernism, a legendary venue! Location right on the beach. Elaborate breakfast.
Room was quite spartan. Wash basin blocked at first use, water remained stagnant in the basin for 24h.
Good location the gardens and sun bathing facilities were excellent. Bars and lounges were for all tastes.
Perfect location of the hotel situated almost directly on the beach and in the best part of the Carihuela Beach close to Benalmadena Marina. We had booked a room with pool view but got a room with almost full seaview. and on the sunny side of the hotel. The food served for brekafast and dinner was excellent and well tasting. During gala dinners on fridays a lot of well tasting shellfish was offered.
A/C switched off for the season..
The great selection of fish
Nothing
Exactly what we were looking for - nice sized room, hotel right on the beach, and food was superb - huge choice each evening and very good quality. Nice big balcony with view of the beach/sea. Easy to reach by train from Malaga airport for just a few euros and 10 minute walk from station to the hotel. Separate kids pool and play area was good. And weather still nice and warm in October!
Pools weren't heated and were freezing! Was also in the shade from midday in October.
exelent
staff not particularly friendly some were rude
Great location. Breakfast selection really good and staff very friendly.
Very silly thing but lifts are too small, in our block, and not great stair access to reception.
This was our 7th stay - and there will be an 8th. Lovely staff and great location. This hotel is the original and best.
Having to go home!
Double bed room was made with 2 twin beds together. Totally uncomfertable. There were ants in the room. House keeping sprayed the room against Ants 2times. Apart from this staff was cooperative. location &breakfast is excellant..
Abandoned my stay
I booked 3 nights and ended canceling everything the moment I had a look at the room I was supposed to stay in. Very old uncomfortable furniture, old structure with no effort to modernize or upgrade. It’s looks more of a complex with shops catered for seniors than anything else. I was happy to be charged €50 cancellation fee than stay and feel miserable for 3 nights. Don’t be fooled by the pictures online.
