“The view! The room was big and lovely with a balcony which was sadly not used to due the wet windy weather. Lovely (although somewhat soft) king bed, trouser press in a place where it couldn't be connected to the mains but was impressive anyway (I just moved it to an outlet across the room). Lovely toiletries, teasmaid.”

“The setting is amazing!!! On the cliff top with fantastic views. The weather was poor so the central heating was very welcome. There is free parking.”

“The hotel is situated in such beautiful surroundings, and in all Honesty probably has THE best view in the whole of the Runswick area! Our room was spacious and very clean. The lady on the front desk who's name I didn't catch, was very helpful and provided us with all the info we needed as well as delivering plates and glasses to our room for our take out. The hotel was wonderfully quiet and private, so very relaxing. Instantly hot power shower and good bath size. We didn't get to use the restaurant and bar but it looked very inviting as did the menu, and has loads of space. Access to the beach is literally on the doorstep, but!....... that doorstep has the steepest hill in the world! IF walking up and down that hill, It's probably best suited to Be.... 1) Under 60! 2) In the best shape of your life! 3) Physically and mentally prepared to cry at the prospect of failure less then halfway up ..or down 4) Not suffer from vertigo 5) Prepared to boast about how you ONCE (twice is doubtful) walked from the hotel down to the beach and back up again ...for many years to come! :) and should probably take you about 10 minutes down and 20-60 minutes up!... Sooo.. If driving, its a lovely 1 minute drive down with the most stunning views over the bay, and excellent parking at the bottom...in High season you must get there early for a space otherwise there is virtually nowhere to park unless your going to walk the Hill. All in this was a fantastic stay worth every aching muscle! Thank god the bed was super comfy too.”

“Staff were very friendly and helpful in the current situation the breakfast was a hot sandwich but satisfactory. The room was larger than expected clean and fresh towels and a wonderful view of Runswick Bay. Very happy.”
