"Such a beautiful hotel, situated in the heart of Brugge." | (in 2 reviews) |
Amazing service and location,
just be careful with the parking spot in front of the hotel to bring down your baggage, I ask if I can park there to bring down my stuff since I was with my baby , they toll me that I can do it for that purpose, the police enter the hotel to ask and no one tell him it was my car, so they put me a ticket that I can’t pay until it arrives by mail
Very comfortable bed, great location, and the included breakfast was very good.
Check-out was a little earlier than I would have hoped for, but not terrible.
Best Hotel I stayed in while traveling through 15
Unquestionably the cleanest, nicest, most accommodating, and all around best value of all the 4-stars I've stayed in over the last 2 months. This place is incredible.
Everything was great
Friendly and helpful staff. Great location. Room was excellent. Breakfast was delicious.
Fabulous !!!!!!!!
Every thing .. A truly beutiful hotel
A pool would have been nice
clean, friendly, efficient close to city sights
Fabulous room in the old part of the hotel, sumptuous decor and very clean - more 5star! We had upgraded and was worth it. Enormous double bed and beautifully soft and comfortable, in fact probably only the second most comfortable we've had in the world. Staff were very helpful, and all spoke fluent English, arriving on a Sunday they checked the restaurant in town was open and made our reservation whilst we toured the town. (excellent idea as it was fully booked later). Breakfast was plentiful and of a super standard - even the scrambled egg! Parking was easy and secure and €20 for 24 hours good value.
The breakfast room was very hot. Be aware there is a youth hostel up the street and as it is a city hotel in an historic part of town there can be a little noise, this didn't bother us in the least, but it could.
Beautifoul, very very good
Nothing
Stayed 3 nights in November 2010 for an average of 145€/night breakfast not included. Very nice modern hotel ideally located in downtown Bruges. Standard rooms are clean and spacious with an 'assembled' queen bed, an armchair, a desk, 2 closets, a full-sized bathroom with shower and bathtub. View on the canal for some rooms in the back building. Bar fridge & LCD TV. Lights turn on and off with the key card. Free wifi on request at the bar. Parking below the hotel building. Facilities include a restaurant for breakfast, a very cosy bar, a small gym, and a wellness center with sauna & hammam. Walking distance from main shopping streets, restaurants, and museums. The staff are extremely helpful and speak good English.
Queen bed was in fact 2 single beds... Gym opens at 10:00am, way too late!
i thought the hotel decor was exceptional for a city hotel beautifully appointed reception rooms
there are two parts to the hotel and the second part would be slightly less impressive than the first older part but not a big issue otherwise lovely hotel great location
A central location, well appointed, an excellent breakfast, relaxed. The high standards of cleanliness and comfort. Efficient staff. It played a great part in making our visit to Bruges a great success.
A minor point worth considering - We would have liked some drawers in which to put our folded clothes. There was plenty of hanging space in the storage unit. Some of the staff could have looked a little happier.
Hotel was clean and just off Market square, very convenient to historical district.
Our room had a terrible odor one of the days we were there. Smelled like sewer backup problem.
Beautifully grand hotel, immaculate throughout. Rooms were superb, décor, bathrooms, all Ist class Excellent breakfast, vast choice hot/cold, all served in very pleasant dining room.
No bad points.
I found the staff very aatentive and polite. The hotel is quite opulent even though some of the rooms are hard to find.
The beds are very comfortable and soft. The breakfast selection is good and diverse. The shared areas and the old building have a nice ambience and classical style. The hotel is situated very centrally so you are never more than 25 mins walk away
Certain members of staff at the reception were getting by putting in the minimum required effort when handling questions and requests. Pro-active is not a word I would use. You can drop off suitcases but you have to put them (yourself) in an unattended, unlocked area, which was rather odd.
The historic and beautiful city of Bruges, Belgium has long been a travelers’ favorite. Noted for its waterways, historic houses and many great squares and markets, it is also home to the Grand Hotel Casselbergh. Noted for combining the historic past with modern luxury, it features only 118 rooms and retains much of its 18th-century charm. Set less than 1,000 feet from the Grote Market, it is a walker’s dream. It is close to Burg Square, City Hall, Provincial Hof, the Belfry of Bruges and more. As noted, Market Square is just steps from the front door, and so too is the Concert Hall. The train station is one mile away and Ostend-Bruges Airport is but 15 miles by car.
The hotel itself is an ideal choice for business as well as leisure travelers thanks to its long list of world-class amenities. There is free parking, a selection of meeting rooms, a spa center in the hotel’s 13th to 17th-century basement areas (including a sauna, fitness room, and steam bath), dining options include the daily breakfast buffet, and there is also a lounge. In addition to this, there is a library, bicycle rental, Wi-Fi, business services, shuttles, laundry and shoe shine, and more.
The 118 rooms are all ensuite with signature toiletries and luxury linens. They feature hot beverage systems, and many gaze out over the city. They offer entertainment systems, separate sitting areas or work desks, climate controls and phone with voicemail.
Visitors to Bruges want to retain that fairy tale feel that the city offers, and the Grand Hotel Casselbergh helps to make that happen with its beautiful rooms and excellent amenities.
