Maria Elena Hotel

Hotel was well run. Jesus the owner/manager was helpful and available during working hours. The hotel's location was walking distance to all the best tourist areas and the neighborhood seemed safe even late at night. Just a block from the CaboWabo Cantina and easy walking distance from excellent restaurants made this small hotel a big hit with my wife and I. New tile, fresh paint and comfortable beds with good a/c helped a lot too. There is a nice restaurant for breakfast/lunch right across the street. All in all a good, clean, stay. A/C was new and quiet, worked very well

There wasn't a safe in the room for our use so we felt compelled to carry our passports and small valuables with us at all times. There was a bit of traffic noise at times from water delivery and medium size trucks but other guests farther back in the hotel said there rooms were very quiet. There was never enough noise to really bother my wife and I but some guests might be bothered.
