Good location on quiet street (a little noise from bar downstair but disappears early). Good Internet. Wonderful staff. Private parking with gate. Room is nice.

I liked the location and the facility. The hotel was in a good location to tour the city and to experience table mountain.
I did not like the noise. Bars along the street were noisy and the parking lot right outside your windows meant you were awoken every each morning. Also the cab they arranged for me tried to charge me twice the meter rate to take a trip to the airport. I refused to pay and had to find another ride.

The front desk staff were absolutely extraordinary. They could not have been more accommodating.
My room was directly behind reception and I found it noisy. The level of amenities in the room fluctuated. Once inconsistencies were identified, they were dealt with promptly.

We stayed twice at the Hippo Boutique Hotel. Both rooms were very stylistic; it felt like we were staying in a museum (which we enjoyed). The hotel is modern, safe, and clean.
The first room had mold in the shower; nothing major, but it definitely detracted from the otherwise modern feel. The second room was almost perfect, but the shower ran out of hot water after the first shower. Overall, however, we very much enjoyed our stay; we did not have to worry about safety, and we enjoyed the modern and generally clean amenities.
