Sheila's Cork Hostel is less than 5 minutes' walk from the centre of Cork. It has a sauna, and offers free Wi-Fi, free city maps and free movies in the cinema room. Sheila's Hostel is a short walk from St. Patrick's Quay and Cork Opera House. The bus and train stations are very close by. The cinema room has lots of comfortable bean bags to sit on. Films are shown every day on a 42-inch (106 cm) plasma-screen TV. There is a self-catering kitchen and a terrace. As well as free Wi-Fi, low-cost internet use is available from the hostel's own computers. Sheila's Tourist Hostel won a "Recommended" award by "Let's Go" in 2008.

Cons:No lift. Facilities and amenities are awkward or dated. You'll see what I mean.

Pros:The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We booked our stay last-minute and they did their best to accommodate us and got us a cheaper rate than what we had booked. Each person that we talked to at reception gave us helpful tips for our trip and made some great recommendations! Beds were comfortable enough. We had a room with an ensuite, though we didn't know it was an ensuite until we were leaving...oops. We just never thought to look. The bathrooms attached to the rooms are much nicer than the public bathrooms. Continental breakfast is offered in the mornings. I believe it was 3 or 5 euros each.
