Overview

With its exceptional view to the Kairouanese (al-Qarawiyyin) part of the most ancient Medina of the Arabic world, protected as a Unesco World Heritage site, Karawan Riad is a historic 17th century building. It is a complete new experience of the Moroccan art of living in the heart of the 1200 years old city. The unique design and concept of this old palace reflect a sumptuous life style, re-imagined for the 21st century. Karawan Riad offers 9 luxurious suites, high end facilities, including a traditional hammam and care with local natural products prepared on demand, a gastronomic restaurant with the Chef's Mediterranean and Moroccan food, fresh from the market. In 2025, Karawan Riad has been rewarded with 1 MICHELIN Key. The MICHELIN Guide recognized a very special stay at Karawan Riad, describing it as "a true gem with its own character and personality. It breaks the mold, offers something different or simply is one of the best of its type. Service always goes the extra mile and provides so much more than similarly priced establishments."
