Stale cigarette butt ruins an otherwise nice hotel room
The bed was large and comfy and I was able to get a decent night's sleep for the one day I was in HCMC. The hotel is centrally located with really good dining options nearby.
Papaya Saigon is supposed to be a non-smoking hotel. However, I found a wet cigarette butt by the bidet drain on the bathroom floor. It made the entire room smell like stale cigarettes. I can't understand how the cleaning staff didn't notice or find it before I arrived. I am a former smoker who is now quite sensitive to secondhand smoke, so this was pretty awful. There was no offer to move me into another room, just a "freshen up" of the room, which did not help. I was tired and only staying for one night so I accepted it. I would like to give this hotel a higher rating but I can't because of the cigarette.
