Location is great, breakfast was good, for a few days to stay and visit Istanbul definately worth it.
Excellent location, hotel in the heart, near the historical monuments. Not expensive, the staff are friendly. It is easy to reach from the airport by metro and tram.
No ventilation, heating is not regulated, stuffy. If you open the window - very noisy, traffic is directly under the windows all night. Room Internet access is unstable. Breakfasts are similar to those in aircraft, plus an omelet. It is strange why it is so, because everything is easy to fix.
Manager's admission that our unsatisfactory room was an error on his part
We were given a single (tiny) room despite confirmation of the need for a double.
Baha and the other staff were very helpful and hard working. The location of the hotel is great. Overall we felt the room was a fair / decent value for the price we paid (although we did have a few gripes - see notes below). I would recommend this hotel to budget travelers who are not too picky. In spite of our gripes, we had a relatively nice stay here, although will choose another location for our next Istanbul trip.
I thought the decor of the rooms on the website seemed charming. But when we arrived our room was small, dark and tired looking (virtually no natural light, a few tears in the bedspread, worn carpet, not much space to unpack and a leaky toilet). There was also a hole in the bathroom wall covered by a grate that served as a vent, but each morning it allowed cigarette smoke to pour into our room from the street / cafe below. I'm not sure if these conditions were specific to our room, or if others are similar. Overall though, this hotel was inexpensive and we feel the amenities were fair value for what we paid. I
My main concern while traveling is to find a hotel room that is really clean. This hotel surpassed my expectations. The bathroom floor were actually so clean they shined.
The stair are too narrow but given the overall service and comfort for an economy hotel, it is well worth the small inconvenience.
