Maywood Hotel

The staff were outstanding. The rooms were very clean and the location was excellent.

The service of the staff was perfect. Breakfast was excellent with a large variety of food. The location was very convienient. The room was clean and nicely decorated.

We found the double bed slightly on the small side for two people.

The hotel is fairly new and the rooms were nicely decorated with modern facilities. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful, giving advice and assisting with bookings for tours. There was a complementary airport pick up service and we were greeted on our arrival with a small gift. When we left we were presented with another gift and, as we had to leave before breakfast, sandwiches had been made for us to take with us. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel is very conveniently located. A 10 minute walk will take you to the main attractions of Topkapi Palace, Aya Sofia and the Blue Mosque, or to the Galata bridge and the ferries for the Bosphorus in the opposite direction. It is very close to the metro (tram) line, too.

Although the windows could be opened and there was air conditioning, the room tended to be hot at night. There was also some noise from adjacent rooms. The sound on the TV was intermittent and this continued during our stay of a week.

The hotel is in the center of main touristic places in Istanbul, the tramway is easily accessible. Also walking to any of these touristic places is possible. The breakfast is very good, and the receptionists are very helpful.

We enjoyed the hotel, the friendly staff, the nice rooms, excellent breakfast, great location, .... I would recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to visit Istanbul! We have visited all tourist locations in the old town of Istanbul by foot (5 min for Aya Sofia, Egyptian Bazar and Topkapi, 10 min for Blue Mosk and Grand Bazaar). This hotel was the perfect location for our city-trip and the staff was very friendly and helpful!

The only thing that could be better was to have a nice terrace. However, as the location was so excellent, this is hardly a complaint.
