Pros: It's location, just by the train station, was super convenient for arrival and departure days, when you're carrying all your bags. Solid onsite laundry facilities. Massage and hot bath (I'd just come after a six day bike tour, so I really appreciated the availability of these). Everything about staying there felt easy.
Cons: The only not I have about it is that the cool stuff was a 15 minute walk (at least) away, which is super close when you think about it, but "popping back to the hotel to get changed for dinner, for example, was an hour … I had only 2 days in town, and I was trying to get everything in. Frankly, this is hardly a problem; it is merely the thing I was least keen about.

Pros: The free noodles and happy hour were a nice touch. The location is very close to the train station. The hot spring was relaxing. Room was clean and well-designed. Bigger than I had expected.

Pros: Clean, modern, polite staff. Walk to the station takes about 10 minutes. Great location for food (I highly recommend you take the short walk to the market rather than having dinner at the hotel restaurant).
Cons: The breakfast may not be so palatable for Westerners (fish, salad, etc.). There is a Starbucks and a Mister Donut next to the hotel. Those might be much more cost effective for breakfast. Like many Japanese hotels, the unit-bathroom is cramped. In my room, the shower temperature was inconsistent and quite difficult to adjust.

Pros: Like all hotels not only in Japan but in my experience around the world price definitely has a factor. If one budget allows for $250+ a night everything is always fine. In my typical price range of $75 to $125 you are naturally going to get older a bit worn with a smaller floor plans. Its a reality and I don't necessary consider it a complainable negative.
