Come for the grounds, not for your room
The grounds were maintained in excellent condition. You really felt like you were in paradise. Pools were clean and comfortable. Not crowded sitting by the pool, and good drink service. Cute souvenir shops. Good check-in experience for a large group thanks to the separate Hilton Honors desk.
Very dated looking building. Room amenities were a bit lacking (e.g. the rest of Thailand seems to have bidet toilets, but not here). Restaurants for dinner were nice, with good food, but quite overpriced. Hilton was very disappointing for booking an airport transfer. I received information by email only the day before my arrival. I had requested the transfer booking over a month earlier. The email stated the booking office for airport transfers closed in 10 minutes! Not very useful when travelling... A follow up email the morning of arrival indicated it was too late to book a transfer "according to their policy", even though booking a return airport transfer took 5 minutes the day of, with no advanced notice required.
The hotel staff are friendly. Overall, the service and facilities are excellent. The rooms are clean and spacious.
Unfortunately, the hotel did not confirm our reservation properly even though we booked 6 months in advance and had no record of our booking. Activehotels were much more helpful in solving the problem than the hotel who did not want to know about it until they were contacted by activehotels directly. Make sure if you book this hotel through booking.com or priceline that you double-check they have confirmed it by phoning.
The scenery from the rooms, the space rooms offered and the price I paid for the rooms. Facilities such as mini golf, table tennis, fitness centre, squash and tennis courts.
The hotel should introduce Muslim shower in toilets just like leading hotels in Bangkok do. In restaurants and breakfast they should introduce Halal food, and if any chicken or lamb is already Halal, then it should be advertised as such. They should also introduce a couple of more table tennis tables as table tennis is by far the most popular game and there are long queues of guests for the lone table. Games room should also be open for 24 hrs.
The breakfast and pools are fantastic. Really enjoyed the green landscape around the resort.
Some of the furnishing appears to be worn out.
There was nothing what I liked about the hotel. I would never stay here again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
So far it was the worst hotel -in the same category-where I ever stayed in Phuket. (I' have been visiting the island for over 10 years regularly). It is a very very touristic hotel without any charme and that oriental touch what you find in nearly every hotel in Thailand. Rooms look very commercial, providing cold atmosphere.I Find the landscape design of the hotel very weird. You can't enter buy car/taxis but they let big tour buses in, which park in the morning in front of your balcony waiting for the tourists with running engine and making irritating noise at 8 am on Saturday morning. Unacceptable!! Staff is far not up to International standard. They have a very much country girl/boy appearance .They need a bit of grooming and training.
