The location was OK. But there are better hotels, much better, in the same.vicinity
o we stayed at this place as a last resort (late planning) and will not stay again. It was a very low value for the high price. There are multiple other options at much better pricing. The room was tiny to the point a night stand would not fit on both sides of the bed...there was only one without a lamp. Looking out the window into an alley showed a long ago burned out building. It was a real eyesore. The electric only works if the card key is in a slot on the wall. Our devices were never charged since we could only charge at night when we were there. The white sheets were stained in many places along with the rest of the linens. REPLACE THEM. The bath towels were beyond their useful life. All were stained and were threadbare. Only a liquid bath gel was provided as soap for the sink and shower. The plastic bottles it comes in will make a huge negative impact on the environment. We used 6 of these a day. With 54 rooms at that place can you imagine the amount of plastic they pitched into the trash. The breakfast was suitable for local people only! Most everything was fried and the main foods were rice and some sort of fried noodle concoction. Discusting. No fruit or real fruit juices. No eggs and of course no meat like ham or bacon. The cereal they did have for kids had a bad taste to it. The jam for the toast was also poor tasting; maybe outdated product. After the second day of a 5 night holiday, we stopped going to breakfast even though we paid extra in the first place. All the food cooked in the make shift kitchen on the 1st floor permeates the rest of the floors. And they cook some really nasty smelling local foods. We were not sure what it was but made an effort move fast when they were cooking. The location was convenient. This is the only reason it gets a 2 rating v. a 1. Stay elsewhere if you want normal accomodations. I live in SE Asia and have seen a variety of accomodations. This place should be priced 50% less than what they charge. Enjoy Melacca
