Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything, the rooms were so cute and comfy and the courtyard with all the plants and koi fish were amazing to wake up too and have some coffee in. I loved this hotel and will be booking again in the future.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent place to stay, Quite yet close in. Great helpful staff.
Good 7.0
Pros: Breakfast was meager. toast, fruit and jams, and coffiee. Very, very clean
Cons: Real noisy form street traffic.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: This is a very decent place to stay! I don’t know why it’s called a “hostel” because it’s really a boutique hotel. It has an abundant garden area in the central patio and quite comfortable rooms all with housekeeping service and equipped kitchens. Our “suite” was larger than most with a king size bed, a full size fridge and a sitting area. We liked the location for its proximity to the beach and beach restaurants and the closeness to a large grocery store and the convenience to two different bus lines: the red and the green.
Cons: Housekeeping was adequate but could be improved. Patio could be more functional with fewer plants and more inviting chairs and lounges for customers’ use. A propane bbq would be a huge welcome addition. The “breakfast” room could be kept unlocked and used for a tenants’ lounge. The upstairs “sanctuary” could be opened up and offer a book trading library. Bikes should be kept in good repair for tenants’ use. This place has a lot of potential and could be a very desirable spot to stay in wonderful Mazatlán!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Best check in I've had in Mexico. The owner gave me a map with all the local points of interest and explained everything to me. Room spacious, clean and good value. Coffee maker in room was excellent Near to beach Beautiful garden to relax. Free purified water
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Free breakfast was simple but very good. The patio is awesome and the laundry was very convenient. The owner and staff are first rate. The A/C worked well and the ceiling fan was an added bonus. Place is close to the market and the beach.
Cons: The water saving shower heads worked a little too well, the dog barking next door was a bit annoying, the bed was firmer than I'm used to.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Wonderful, attentive owner. Beautiful room and place.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The hotel is charming and has everything you need Rooms are very nice and clean Nice to have a kitchenette with everything you need The patio is a little oasis Karina the housekeeper is very kind and does a great job Eduardo who cleans the public areas is very professional
Cons: Nothing !! Loved it!!
Excellent 8.0
Pros: All the staff to include the owner were great.
Cons: Would have liked more variety for breakfast. Like that the owner is ecological. He was also available when needed.

Good 7.0
Pros: The rooms are very good.
Cons: Restaurants and public areas are much less than expected
Good 7.0
Pros: Location
Cons: Staff
Good 7.0
Cons: No hot water
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We loved the whole resort it was amazing it had a store restaurants beautiful view
Cons: We didn't like that we couldn't get in the ocean at that location
Excellent 8.0
Pros: golf
Cons: service
Okay 4.0
Pros: The prices were fair. They offered really good food.
Cons: They didn't like that I made the reservation through booking.com. The staff constantly said that they didn't new things. There were two types of costumers; the ones that did their reservations directly and the ones that used booking.com
Okay 4.0
Pros: THE STAFF WAS FRIENDLY
Cons: OUR ROOM WAS SO HUMID THAT THE TOWEL USED TO DRY OFF AFTER SHOWERING FELT LIKE A WET WASHRAG. THE BLANKETS WERE ALSO HUMID. THEY ONLY GAVE US 1 HAND TOWEL, NO WASH RAG, AND TWO TOWELS. THE ELECTRIC PLUGS IN THE BATHROOM DID NOT WORK. THE LIGHT IN THE OVERHEAD FAN DID NOT WORK. ALTHOUGH THERE WAS A PLACE FOR IT. THERE WAS NO REFRIGERATOR TO KEEP OUR WATER COLD NO ICE MACHINE. AND, WHEN WE GOT HOME THEY CHARGED US FOR 2 NIGHTS AND WE ONLY STAYED 1 NIGHT.

Good 6.7
Pros: The location was perfect - across the street from the Pacific and the end of Mazatlan's malecón. We were just a few blocks from Plazuela Machado where we visited the small but interesting Museo Archaeologico, an art gallery, the Ángela Peralta Theater, and dined under the trees at one of the many restaurants rimming the plaza. We enjoyed a beautiful dinner on the terrace at Casa Lucila, and breakfast the next day. The hotel kept our luggage stored for us after our check-out so we could further explore the area before transferring that afternoon to a new location.
Cons: We had the "Alma" suite, located on the first floor of the 8-room inn. While it had high ceilings and was spacious enough, there was only one small window so we felt like we were in a bit of a cave. The air conditioning was sub par, and non-existent in the spacious but hot and humid bathroom. We left the door between the bedroom and bathroom open to try to get what modest cooling there was from one room to the next but to no avail. Because we were staying just the one night and were a bit fatigued from our long flight day, we did not complain or ask for a different room. I'm sure they would have moved us if room was available to a higher floor. I would try this hotel again but ask specifically for an upper room with more windows and airflow.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: We had a room with a fantastic view of the beach and ocean. The glass doors and window covered nearly the whole wall. We could relax on the beds and watch the people (and pets!) on the malecon and the beach, from dogs frolicking on the beach, to people doing tai chi, to the crowds of people jogging, walking, skating, walking dogs, etc. on the malecon. The beds were very comfortable, and I slept great every night despite the traffic noise. The staff was very helpful. Great bar in the lovely courtyard. Birds and towering plants everywhere.
Cons: Starting at 5pm, the traffic and crowd noise was high until the wee hours. On the positive side, it didn't keep me awake, and the music and people singing along was festive.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: exceptional view, location. A lot of street noise. close to restaurants. Across from beach.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything
Cons: Everything
Okay 5.0
Pros: Very nice location, found parking nearby and the beach was very close.
Cons: There was a lady knocking on the room next to ours very early, started screaming out names and would not let us sleep.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Wonderful greeting on check in, but I cannot Remember the gentleman’s name. Also upon check out Isabella was a great help calling us a taxi and she was very sweet and kind. We love the location absolutely. There is no better location as far as being right on the ocean. It’s the reason that we stay there every time that we visit Mazatlan. It is an older property but it is very inexpensive, has a lot of character and is quite clean. We will always come back to La Siesta!
Cons: Only a few things and they are small, like the slats in our door were broken so there was a large gap. Also we didn’t have a lock to keep the slatted door shut and to get that ocean breeze going through the room. The beds were a tiny bit hard but we slept OK on them. We have found that most beds are on the harder side in Mexico.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The place looked sparkling, extra cleaned.
Cons: The beds were little hard.
Okay 4.0
Pros: It was nice it was right in from of the malecon and restaurants but thats the only good thing..
Cons: I didnt like that it looks nice in pictures but in person looks like a cheap run-down motel. Especially where its located I would think it would be a little bit more up to date. With better wifi! Sucks I wasn't able to connect to any.
Excellent 8.0
Cons: AC turned off on its own
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Location
Cons: I don’t know

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent location and a lovely terrace to hang out.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Good location, Nice terrace
Mediocre 3.0
Pros: 1. Nice staff, the only good thing I found…….
Cons: Awful experience…… 1. After clean just let my door's lock open. 2. Outside can watch directly my room, I even couldn't cover it. 3. Shower water is just a little hot. 4. There is no quilt at room, I felt so cold……
Good 7.0
Pros: The hostel was located two blocks from the city center. It was quiet, and the staff were helpful, even doing our laundry. Roof deck was nice, and internet worked well.
Cons: I don't like that they required a deposit into a Mexican bank account. That was fairly difficult from the US, and they wouldn't give us a refund for the amount we overpaid.
Okay 5.0
Pros: - Good location just a couple of blocks from the heart of the city center and main bus lines. - Strong air conditioning and also two fans in the room made it easy to keep cool. - WiFi was surprisingly good - one of the best I've experienced in a hostel.
Cons: - The bathroom was a disaster. The sink was falling out of the wall, the toilet seat was completely broken off of the toilet, and the lock was falling out of the door. In addition, there was no shelf in around the shower, absolutely nowhere to put basic things soap, etc. I told the staff about the broken items and they fixed the sink and left the other problems like the broken toilet seat. - The kitchen area was poorly stocked with a few dirty looking utensils (although plenty of plates) and a dirty wash rag to "clean" things with. - Beds and pillows were bare bones. Flat pillows, no curtains, no shelves or other place to put belongings by the beds. - No liquid soap in shared bathrooms. Sharing a small bar of soap with a bunch of strangers is disgusting. - Overall a very bare bones hostel, which is fine but price is expensive for what it is.
Good 7.9
Pros: Location
Cons: All was good
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Location
Cons: No locker available when I first checked in
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The common area on roof was amazing! Perfect spot to chill in hammock and have a beer!
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Location! This is the best street of Mazatlán. Rooftop terrace with hammocks. Delicious banana bread in the morning.
Cons: Cold water in the shower, but with temperatures like there it’s better to have cold showers!
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Staff, location and peaceful surroundings. Will recommend this place/ hostel.

Pros: Freeman is an institution in Mazatlan. It’s one of the tallest buildings in Olas Atlas so it provides a wonderful view of the town and the beach & malecon. I love its location as well since it’s so close to the central historical area and it is steps from the beach. They serve the best buffet breakfast. I had chilaquiles everyday and it’s one of my most favorite food that I’ve had in Mexico. But best of all is the welcoming and friendly, super helpful staff. They’re the reason people stay in this hotel ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
Cons: Nothing!

Okay 4.2
Pros: Location is nice just in the middle of old town
Cons: What is shown and offered at the website is not what they offer at hotel. Small pool, no dinner service at roof top, bathtub is uncomfortable, at front desk they charge you a higher price than the one offered by booking.com
Good 7.5
Pros: NO BREAKFAST
Good 7.9
Pros: Nice furnished rooms and bathrooms Great location
Cons: Breakfasts were so so Noisy at night specially on weekends
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The workers were great always cheerful and helpful, the room is awesome and the bathroom great loved the shower. The roof pool is kind of small but is great to relax and take the sun I will stay here for sure next time I get to Mazatlán
Cons: Bed was to soft for my taste and walls are thin so you can hear noices from other rooms
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Airconditioning, convenient room, excellent bed and pillows, nice easy going staff, roof with pool
Cons: The shower hanging a bit loose from the ceiling and water holes closed with chalk. Airco should be cleaned and dusted. Just some details should be taken care off better. Breakfast very simple, add a boiled egg, now all was very sweet.
Excellent 8.5
Pros: In the middle of it all, if you happen to visit during Carnival. Great use of space, lovely decoration. Rain shower was awesome! Small rooftop pool but beach is just a short walk. Comfy beds.
Cons: Very loud at night, right off main square with Carnival celebrations into early morning. But that means just a short walk home!

Excellent 10.0
Cons: Great service and hotel beach.
Okay 4.0
Pros: The staff for the breakfast was very polite and demonstrated kindness. The ocean view from the room is nice as well, if you have that choice.
Cons: The check-in and check-out both proved to be unprofessional from start to even after I left. There was no one at the desk when I arrived. When he did arrive, he was pleasant, but incapable of checking me in. Though he said he could see my reservation in his system, he still wanted and had me to pull up my information on my phone. He charged me, and apparently forgot to add something that they didn't even tell me when I was checking out. The check-out woman was extremely rude and allowed other guests to cut me in line. She would not answer my question and seems to have not told me they were charging me more. She did not give me a check-out receipt when I asked her, and I received a message after departing that they would like for me to pay more (from what they forgot and I though I ASKED them about it to double check without being answered, but instead, dismissed by the receptionist.) There was a loud buzzing in the room during the duration of my stay. The room key didn't work and I kept having to go downstairs to get a new one each time I left. The bed is hard, if you like that kind of thing. The wifi doesn't work, so beware if you are trying to get online for work or any other reason.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Ocean view cleanliness.
Cons: Great location.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: I chose this hotel due to the close proximity to the bus terminal. I had just a backpack and found the location across the road very convienent for my needs. The reception area of the hotel has a very comfortable seating area, with bathrooms, television, easy access to microwave and coffee maker. The receptionist was very inviting and made my reservation through Booking hassle free. I even got a discount due to my Genius discount which was appreciated. The room #10 that I received was nothing special but the major necessities were met and everything worked and seemed clean. I felt my room was secure, the hot water in the shower was at a perfect temperature, the ceiling fan and windows provided very good ventilation. There is drain cover in the shower to keep out any of potential odors. The price is still decent on the weekends even when prices at nearby hotels increase. I have stayed at other hotels nearby that were charging double the price and yet had a better experience at Hotel Esperanza
Cons: The soap brand is cheap but it's the usual for a budget hotel but I brought my own bar of soap and shampoo from a previous hotel stay it wss not a problem. It seems like cash is the way to pay especially for a shorter stay. Apparently they do have a way to pay by card but probably for longer stays.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: It is located on the main road and is close to the Malecón. Also the staff was very friendly and always attentive.

Poor 1.0
Cons: We had to check-out earlier 2 days and they basically refused to refund any portion. And said they still had to charge for the 2 days. And we had to move rooms because they where having pluming issues with 1st room.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Great place for the price I love the location, pool, and staff but I do believe the place needs renovation and easier access for the handicap although it says on the website it has access it was a challenge to get to the pool and in to the restroom
Good 7.9
Cons: Very noisy
Good 7.1
Pros: Right in front of the beach
Cons: Parking is not enough and facilities looks old.
