Ambiance & relaxed atmosphere -- w/great staff!
The Iron Horse Hotel has a very industrial, contemporary decor that is AMAZING! Every detail is considered!!
Whole experience from check in to check out was incredible. Rooms were very large, extremely comfortable, well appointed and stocked. Staff was extremely friendly and attentive to all of our requests
Great Hotel but Pretty Noisy
My wife and I stayed at the Iron Horse Hotel for a short weekend getaway from Chicago. We loved the hotel. The food at Smyth was great; don't miss the goat cheese appetizer and pork belly. The bar was also a really nice touch; the decor was all dark leather/wood and the cocktails were great. The staff for the entire hotel were some of the best I have seen and I stay in hotels 3-4 nights a week for business.
The only reason I gave the hotel 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the dog policy. We live in a high-rise in downtown Chicago that allows dogs, so we weren't expecting to be bothered by a little noise. However, there were multiple occasions when dogs would be crying and howling (most likely from being left alone in an unfamiliar room) early in the morning and late at night. This wasn't the best for our romantic weekend away, but wouldn't stop me from visiting the Iron Horse Hotel in the future.
Unique and Fun Hotel
I stay in hotels all over the country and this place was one of a kind. If you like motorcycles, staying here is a no brainer. You're a short walk away from the HD Museum and the feel and decor of the hotel has a rugged-modern vibe. I didn't get a chance to hang out at the bar but it looked like like a upbeat scene. Their signature restaurant was excellent.
That I didn't have my Harley with me!
comfortable bed and great shower. excellent location for getting about town.
It was a casual atmosphere with an elegant touch. The rooms we had (we stayed on the way to and from Minneapolis) were unique. We had two different corner alcove rooms, and each of them were fantastic. The Patio was comfortable and a lot of fun. We were there for the first Thursday night of the season (biker night) and we very pleased.
