The Mulberry Inn and Plaza at Fort Eustis

They gave us a refund when we asked

We could not have been more disappointed. In fact, we asked for our money back within 10 minutes of checking in. The ONLY reason for any stars is they agreed to return our booking fee. The hallways reeked of marijuana. Our non-smoking room smelled of smoke and marijuana and had cigarette butts shoved into the AC unit. The carpet was not vacuumed (maybe in weeks). There was a six inch dead millipede in the middle of the room. The sheets were stained (with blood?). We normally stay in cheap and sometimes sketchy hotels … we would not stay here.

Good room for cheap.

Pretty nice accommodations for little money. Breakfast was simple, but good. Better than a typical continental breakfast.

The walls and floors were dirty. Floors in both hallways and in our rooms were very dirty / stained. Upstairs hall smelled very bad all 4 days we were there. Our bathroom had plumbing issues. Tub faucet leaked steadily. Toilet ran on it's own about every 15 min. Toilet was loose and wobbled on the floor.

SMOKEY ROOM

Friendly staff and a reasonable breakfast each morning with lots of choices. That was a treat.

dID NOT LIKE THAT THE SMOKE FROM cigartette smoke near THE BBQ pit came straight into the room and the whole room smelt of smoke. had to keep windows open. A door snake across the door would help stop this from happening.
