Madison Beach Motel

The location and clean sheets and towels are the only good things about Madison Beach Motel.

The cramped room wasn't clean enough and smelled musty like it hadn't been dried thoroughly after flooding. The warped spots on the walls tell the same story. The carpet was so disgusting that no amount of cleaning would be sufficient - it should be replaced. We had to buy air fresheners to be able to deal with the smell. The bed was uncomfortable, not put together properly and had metal pieces sticking out enough to hit your legs. Although the sheets were clean, I noticed that the fitted sheet was coming apart at one of the corners. The full-length mirror was placed in a cramped corner without room to step back enough to make it useful. There was one shelf-type thing on the wall that was supposed to have a bar to hang some clothes, but the bar was missing. The bathroom is outdated with no light in the shower and no leg room between the toilet and the shower (I'm only 5'3"). The only towel bars are right next to the toilet. The very small shower had a curtain with some mildew spots. The bathroom door scraped the floor and didn't leave much room to move - you definitely can't get in the shower if the bathroom door is open. All the electrical outlets are dangerously loose to the point that plugs fall out of them on their own. The TV kept losing reception. The refrigerator had rust spots all over it. Parking spaces are narrow and the lot is cramped. The pool is much smaller than it appears in the photos. The ice machine looks so filthy that I wouldn't consider using it. The soda machine was out of everything.

The lady at the desk was very very kind. Didn't catch her name, but she always made us laugh.
