The lady who seems to run the place was wonderfully helpful, genuine and reliable. She went out of her way to allow us to eat in the divan on the roof terrace, which was a highlight. The views over the valley to Ouarzazate are superb, as is the context of the surrounding village. The food was very good, plentiful and well presented.
It's quite difficult to find, mostly because it wasn't obvious that it is a satellite of the Dar Daif hotel. All the signage majors on the Dar Daif.
It gave a real sense of Morrocco, very authentic with wonderful views across to Ouarzazate, sheep bleating nearby and Donkeys passing by hard at work. The food was great and we were really well cared for with staff willing to help when needed.
It was a little too far out of town, therefore it could be difficult to taxi to. The petite taxis cannot go out that far. Luckily the tour company we used picked us up and dropped us back each day.
Authentig Kasbah
extremly dificult to found, its part of other house. parking- there is no hotel parking but parking on the street
Very nice view from the terrace, good breakfast.
A very bad smell in the bathroom that was preceived even in the bedroom.
Staying in an authentic Kasbah
once the trepidation of finding the riad abates, you are rewarded with an exotic, authentic riad experience in a traditional small village.Roof terrace traditional moroccan meals are graciously served by staff that genuinely strive to please. Sunrise ambling on the roof terrace allow views of the palmerie and lake below, whilst marvelling at the clacking bills of mating storks and villagers fishing or scything greenery for their animals in the distance.Exiting the village through dusty, adobe walkways adds to the adventue and romance of the site.Frequent prayer call reminds you of your proximity to a ancient culture and way-of-life different than yours.Truly an oasis for the traveler after a hectic day in the souk!
we were travelling by rental car so this is taxing as there are NO signs for Dar Bladi. It is several kms outside town in a village barely touched by tourists. One follows timidly a broken track and gravel winding road for three kms before you luckily enlist the help of locals.Arriving a night was challenging. Not much lighting so an elegant, gentle man led us by flashlight up rough-hewn steps and sandy path through adobe tunnels to our riad, sighted on a plateau. Not for the intrepid but just what this romantacist ordered! One of our most memorable stays in 4 weeks in Morocco
