Pros:the hotel was overbooked -even though it was still offering up rooms on kayak - they - without any notification - booked us a room in another hotel which was not good at all. I am fighting for a refund as we had to book a much more expensive room at a nearby hotel.
Cons:In June I reserved a room at Posada La Basilica for the weekend of Day of the Dead...31 October - 3 November. In July the hotel decided to triple its prices for that weekend, and told me that my room was no longer available because the hotel was "overbooked". I understand their desire to charge the highest prices the market would bear, but cancelling a pre-confirmed and pre-paid reservation is slimeball.
