the luxury of the bedroom and comfort of the lounges with log fires
Stayed in the Riverview rooms with beautiful view of the River Tay only about 30 metres away. Room very spacious, nicely decorated with comfortable bed and lovely en-suite. Meals excellent, beautifully presented, with very extensive wine list. Evening meal and wines however rather expensive.
The Staff were all very friendly & efficient, room overlooking the river was very good value for money as a single traveller.Food was of a good standard .
very relaxing
excellent location, excellent food, great ambiance but we only stayed one night so we did not do any of the nature stuff
This hotel was decorated tastefully and to a high standard. We arrived in January when it was freezing outside. There were three open fires burning. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was excellent (with one exception).
The porridge was disappointingly cool, had lumps of formed skin in i and had little or no salt. Not good for an expensive hotel in Scoland. Dogs are allowed in the bedrooms only, so while we were eating, our dog was out in the car despite it being -7degrees C. Surely in the winter they could allow dogs better shelter.
comfort,excellent location,food all first class
arrived on a dark and very wet evening, so the greatest surprise was when I opened the curtains in the morning, the veiw was breathtaking, the river Tay flows through the garden.I liked everything , wish I could have stayed longer than one night.
Wonderful setting; peace and tranquility; friendly, attentive staff; good food;relaxing atmosphere;well appointed rooms; convenient for A9; Dundee and Perth
Perhaps lost some of the elegance of former days; direct booking overpriced; rather restricted menu e.g. no a la carte on a mid week evening; some of the staff need a little more training at table service.
Hotel and grounds were excellent, Dinner menue was good and the food very good
The breakfast was a let down. The cooked food was cold and had been lying in the kitchen for some time, bacon etc hard and uneatable. even the poached egg had been pre cooked! Worst cooked breakfast ever
