The breakfast was good, the waiting staff were attentive and friendly
The decor is tired and in need of modernisation, the bed wasn't very comfortable and the room was cold in the morning. Also, I assumed when it said "shower over the bath" it meant a proper shower, however, there was no proper shower just one where the hoses are attached to the taps
The person who checked me out could not have been nicer
The check in was very abrubt and consisted of "Name?", "Sign here" and "Room up on right and breakfast down that way". The room was not of good quality despite request for a "nice room". Toilet paper was a one sheet at a time like a public toilet, the room was squint - lying on the bed there is a clear and distinct lean on the room to the right, the walls are paper thin, the bacon at breakfast was so salty it was inedible (and I like salty bacon!). The standard of the room was very dated and all in all for £85, I feel ripped off as the pictures on the website of the rooms are not the reality. Whilst admittedly this was not a lot for one night, it is substantially more than budget rooms which I feel this is akin to.
I was pleasently surprised with the hotel. Its homely but still has all the touches of a professional hotel. The decor was really nice and the room and bathroom were spotless. The reception staff treated you like a friend as opposed to a customer
Our breakfast was really good and worth the money but the service was a bit slow.
hotel was clean and spacious. the room we had was a family one and I would definitely request it again. for a 3 star hotel, we were pleasantly surprised. staff were friendly.
it was a bit of an uphill hike with our cases from the train station ... but not impossible! We discovered a bus shelter right next to the hotel, so would look intot the short ride up the hill if visiting again - but only because of our luggage.
bar was shut at 10.30 when wqe came back on a friday night
