Room mix up caused massive headaches
Not much really, the breakfast was pretty good.
Our room was double booked, an irritation but these things happen. We came back from our evening out and were promised a room had been sorted, we went upstairs and walked in on another guest sleeping! Fortunately they extremely calm but this is completely unacceptable. We then tried another room and the same thing happened! Finally on the third attempt and after an hour of waiting we were provided a room. This has completely ruined my hotel experience and simply cannot recommend this hotel.
This hotel is in a great location for the NEC and the airport with free parking and within walking distance. The rooms are nice spacious and clean. I've stayed here 5 times now
I have to say that this time we found the hotel cold. From arriving the room was cold turned the heating up but took several hours to get just warm. Went down to the bar which was also cold. I said to the barman how cold it was and he agreed it was and turned the heating up but with the doors continually opening and one remaining constantly open with the temerature outside -2C it wasn't comfortable most people had their coats on. The same the next morning in the breakfast room I could feel the cold air on my feet and legs!
Blocked toilet & broken kettle & no shower gel
Excellent evening meal in restaurant. Good service quick check in
Very hot in room opened windows which helped us get to sleep. Room was clean and beds comfortable.
Good Hotel close to NEC
The staff are great and the food in the resturant was billiant. Easy 10 minute walk to Birmingham International rail station and NEC. Plenty of parking for the rooms available. Common areas have been updated and are bright, clean and plesant.
Internet slow (but reliable) , room was a bit dated and bathroom needed a little TLC but clean and functional. some rooms are very close to busy A45 but more than adaque sound proofing as long as you don't expect to have your windows open, there is no Air Conditining so this can make regulating the room tempreach a balancing act.
The noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in
Reception did try to help with the problems I encountered.
I had to move rooms twice because there was so much noise coming from other rooms. The first night I was woken three times - a crying baby downstairs first, then drunk people next door, then an argument on the other side early in the morning. Not the hotel's fault exactly and reception did try to help but at the end of the day the one thing you need in a hotel is to be able to sleep at night. The gym and leisure bit compensates a bit but otherwise there isn't much to recommend it. Avoid.
Room was clean & comfortable. Breakfast is great Location great.
Bathroom needed some tlc and a refresh. Lack of full air-conditioning. Did have a built in fan of sorts.
Very nice hotel. The position was perfect for the LG arena. Only a few minutes walk. Would definately recommend it
Efficient and friendly Staff Very good pool and liesure set up
Room a little basic - very little toiletries and no biscuits with the coffee/tea making facilities
Value for money size of room no bath
Polite and helpful staff
Tv to complecated
ease of access to rail station & airport & NEC facilities. The staff were very helpful & polite. Would definately use this hotel again.
The public areas were very welcoming, the restaurant was very good and the staff were very helpful.
The coldness of the breakfast room which was almost next to the front door.
Easy access to NEC site
The decor is a bit "tired" although I appreciate the hotel is well used 24/7
The staff were very helpfull and the location being close to the NEC
The hairdryer in our room did not work.
Hotel room had a strong smokey smell to it even thogh a non smoking hotel
The hotel was comfortable
When we entered the room it was freezing. There was no instuctions on how to use the heating/cooling system. We booked an early morning call for 7am, this was not forthcoming and as a result were later than expected for an engagement. When this was pointed out to reception at checkout all that was offered was 'sorry' I feel we should have been offered maybe a free breakfast as compensation.
Good food and good service
Warm, ac would be a benefit
