Hotel Nikko Bali Benoa Beach

Somewhat underwhelming experience

Nice location by the beach. Pool location and outlook very pleasant. Some staff are welcoming. Rooms are a decent size, but we had a suite so expect they were larger.

Very poor for an All Inclusive resort, would definitely avoid. Despite there being four restaurants only 2 were mostly operating during the busy Easter holidays period. Nothing too memorable about either of these. Pool in need of repair; my children's favourite game was picking up the tiles from the pool floor. Kid's Club is repetitive and needs much more thought; same activities each day, and a separate charge for many of these. Some Staff are engaged, but need better training, while some are just not that engaged which shows in their response to customers. Information online regarding the Hotel Amenities is misleading and inaccurate. Would not return to this hotel, there are much better and more welcoming in Bali.

Aston Bali is a reasonable hotel on a now rather overpriced island. The standards of accommodation have really gone up over the last 10 years, but then, so has the price. Keep your expectations low and you will be content. The pool is quite large and seems to be clean. There always seemed to be a sufficient number of deckchairs available. Breakfast was quite good albeit monotonous after a few days. There is a gym but we did not use it. The rooms are quite large and all seem to have balconies. Air conditioning worked well and the televisions are decent sized LCD. Rooms came with mosquito repellent bats but we did not find these particularly effective as we were still eaten to death on two occasions. Wear bug spray to bed!

Aston has a dubious process for processing credit card statements. Upon arrival we were asked to write our credit card details on a piece of paper. A scan of the card was also taken. Unfortunately, Aston seem to have some less than trustworthy staff as by the end of our stay, our credit card had been canceled by the bank due to the appearance of $900 in online gambling charges. The card had not been used except for this hotel booking so it is safe to say the details were taken from the hotel and used fraudulently. Recording the card insecurely is unprofessional and the hotel should improve this process. Losing a card while traveling can completely ruin a perfectly good holiday! Additionally, bathrooms could be kept cleaner.

Dogs on the beach :) The hotel was nic but a little bit old.

The bars and restaurants were closed before the set time. The staff was not alweys polite.
