Great boutique art hotel. Really well maintained, fabulous decor.
Fabulous Arty Hotel
Love the art, the vibe, the delicious food in the cafe, the beautiful old building and elevator. Each room was designed by a local artist, and mine had specially designed wallpaper that was full of surprising and interesting details. Comfy bed, warm room (in January). They give you earplugs in case the noise bothers you, but it didn't bother me, maybe because I'm used to living in a city.
It's an old building. Rooms are small. Bathroom shower is very small. But so worth it. Definitely reserve one of their limited parking places if you have a car.
Is this actually a hotel? More like an art gallery
Hot and cold running water, bed OK.
Ancient high wood windows with no storms. It was November and it was horribly drafty. I shudder to imagine January. Very noisy due to streetcars and railway. Room so small there wasn't room for a chair. Shower stall so small I couldn't lean over to wash my feet. Eccentric in your face art throughout. Fine if you like that sort of thing, but not my taste and hard to ignore.
Very funky, very interesting. Lots of fun.
Small rooms, and the elevator can only be worked by staff. (antique)
The friendly staff. The art. The ambience of the old romantic spaces. Delicious organic eats.
Small room and bathroom.
A good blend of traditional late 19-century architecture and contemporary early 21st-century decor. In this physical context the desk, elevator, and cafe staff were friendly and helpful. An excellent experience.
The location of the hotel is quite a way west in the city in relation to the opera, the AGO, and the University of Toronto, the three institutions that I was visiting.
I loved the building itself. The hand-operated elevator, the wide halls, the art on the walls, the feeling of going back in time. I like the originality of the room's decor, and that the linens were high-quality, the pillows and bed very comfortable, the bathroom - though small - functioned well - all the fixtures were again of the best quality. I liked the 'green' approach and toiletries. Staff were all helpful and friendly.
In the bar, in the morning, the one person working there was not initially welcoming. He did get our orders quickly once he had come to the table and we told him we were in a hurry.
The upbeat nature of the hotel and staff and certainly the restaurant
There was no coffee maker in the room
I enjoyed the location and the uniqueness of the hotel rooms.
The shower stall was so tiny, smaller than a phone booth.
Very noisy, because of the traffic. In the room it was very hot and the air condition was so noisy that we couldn`t sleep. It`s a great place, but not for sleeping!
cleanliness in the room, free WiFi access
too small room, dim lightening there, a noisy conditioner; no lobby; a very unpleasant location area

A very nice hotel. The room was super nice, the food was good, a street car (tram) stops right outside, and the general atmosphere of the hotel was very good. It is in the art&design district and the street has nice stores, restaurants and cafes all the way downtown.
