Pros:The manager and all the staff were very nice.
Cons:My wife and I stayed here for one night on a quick visit we needed to make to Tulsa. I lived in this area from 1960-1969, where I attended Woodrow Wilson Junior High School, Will Rogers High School, and the University of Tulsa, which is even closer to this Super 8, that than the Fairgrounds. It has a nostalgic charm for me, but being only a few miles west of downtown and one of the "older" areas of Tulsa, it suffers from a higher crime rate, urban decline, etc., like other large ccities. My wife also grew up in Tulsa and was ambivalent about staying here because of these issues. Well, about 4 a.m. when our dog need to go for a walk, I encountered a large police search on the street right outside our motel door for what I later learned was for 4, men who had stolen a car and were being chased by Tulsa PD officers after they abandoned the car to escape on foot. In fact, the officer who asked me if I had seen a man running down the street had one of the perpetrators in "jailed" in the back seat of his squad car and the criminal was shouting and screaming so loudly that my wife was awakened by all the commotion. We will NEVER stay here again!! Also, Kayak miss-handled our arrival time, making it a day earlier than we planned, making us a "no show" that caused us to have to pay AGAIN and at a higer rate than the internet rate. I would not have stayed except that it was nearly midnight when we arrived and we were very tired and did not want to waste time looking for another room somewhere else.
