Really enjoyed my stay here. Can’t beat the location. Would definitely recommend to others. I’ll be coming back for sure.
Good Value
Location, friendly staff, clean room, amenities, very quiet.
No parking due to an event next door we were unaware of. Given parking pass for adjacent lots but were refused entrance.
Good for young adults
Great location to uptown Ventura and the beach. Restaurants are within walking distance.
Very noisy so don't plan to get a good night sleep
Unique
They showed us to a adorable king size bedroom with a fireplace running! It was quaint! But we needed two queens. We got a very large room with lots of Windows!
Breakfast had no juice. Hardly any food left. A little worn out. No mattress on the hideabed. No keys so we had to be taken to our room. Desk clerk was awesome though.
Great value in the heart of downtown Ventura!
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The shower in my room was broken, and the staff changed my room easily. The location was perfect! All of the downtown nightlife is walkable from the Clocktower, including a top notch whiskey bar across the courtyard. Value of accommodation for the price is exceptional.
Free breakfast buffet was a joke. Paid extra for a "nicer" room with a balcony, was originally booked into a room on the first floor. Patio is different from balcony. My first room had plumbing issues with the shower. The type of issue that the last guest probably complained about. Since it was not fixed before this room was sold again, I was given a poor impression of this hotel's standard of service.
horrible hotel
Nothing
Everything was bad here, black mold in the bathroom free breakfast consisted of runny powder eggs stale bread and the creamer was out dated. The gal at the front desk was continually apologizing I felt bad for her. This hotel is next to a park and the parking is shared with a public parking lot that was full of homeless people. At night we could hear people fighting in the park which was right out side our room there was a 6 foot fence that separated the window in our room and the homeless people continued to look over it into our window we complained to the front desk but was told nothing could be done because they didn't own the park and it was a public area. Good thing we were only staying one night
View was great
The front desk girl Nicole made you feel at home and was very kind and welcoming.
Been in the past not the same as now
Great location right in heart of downtown old town Clubs Restaurants night life walking distance Cool park adjacent to hotel local transients hanging out but harmless Close to beach and fwy
Place has been great in the past lots of nice plants around patio and autrium Breakfast used to be good real eggs bacon sausage Now cheap as could be Super continental generic pastries if management could make cheaper I'm sure they would Went in morning to get coffee dispenser was out informed the clerk They copped a little attitude with me pulling them away from playing on fb I'm gruppy in the morning before my coffee just pissed me off I returned to my room to use the coffe machine there Place is a great price for what it is But don't expect anything to be completly right I'm not one to rate things very often take much to please But if u include breakfast and know it's sucks least have some fuking hot coffee for your guest in the morning I love Ventura This place has eroded management orsomething has dramatically changed for the bad here I hope the owner pulls his or her head out of there ass fixes it Place has lots of character history and charm to the city of Ventura to just throw this very neat partially converted old firehouse down the drain I hope I see better reviews in the future Save the clock tower lol Staff extremely poorly trained Bad moral Obvious owner manager has changed from the past I speak from the heart if you don't like my grammar or punctuation Too bad Is what it is Love America buy American
Not perfect but good value.
I've stayed here several times. It's close (waking distance) to downtown, restaurants, bars and the beach. Room was clean, great balcony. Breakfast is marginal but they do have coffee and juice and sometimes eggs if you want to risk ptomaine poisoning, LOL.
Staff is always overwhelmed although they try to help. Ice machine never working but you can get all you want at the restaurant next door. Don't go roaming around outside late at night, really sketchy area although the hotel grounds are locked up tight. Parking is really tight on holiday weekends but they always find something for you.
Was close to main street, freeway access.
1. Small round toilet seat installed on large elongated oval toilet was strange. 2. Water damage in bathroom between tub & wall with black mold was gross. 3. The only chair in room was a hard wood dining room type chair. 4. With reservations, it took 10 minutes for desk clerk to get checked in. 5. Skipped the breakfast offered, its the worst of any motel I have ever stayed at. 6. Homeless around the hotel parking lot.
Weekend stay
Good downtown location
Advertised wine and cheese served which was not the case, no internet available in rooms, rooms could use updating.
Great and helpful staff. Within walking distance to downtown and beach front, literally a block away. Wonderful location. Definately coming back.
Some homeless around the area but they're really peaceful and keep to themselves. Nothing to worry about :)
