Exactly the experience you expect. Great staff, friendly to pets, and a beautiful space. Their basement game room was awesome for kids and adults! Bowling, basketball, pool, ping-pong, shuffleboard and more!
Great location, fun vibe & activities, grand rooms, and almost all the staff members were extremely friendly and courteous.
I really was in shocked with how dirty this hotel is. When you walk in you expect nothing but an amazing experience. I first noticed the level of uncleanliness when we checked into our room. Walking into the room you were amazed by how grand and beautiful it was designed and put together. We walked over to the desk and night stands and there was layer of dust all over it. The baseboards were the same way. I thought maybe this room had not been used in a while. Then we went down to the lobby where there is a puzzle on the coffee table with the couches. It was full of crumbs and dirt. If the hotel had been slightly busy this would make sense but it wasn't nor did it appear to be fresh crumbs and grease marks. The next morning we had breakfast and the restaurant in the lobby. The hostess was very friendly, our waitress wasn't at first but she came around. There appears to be huge coffee spatters all over the wall on the left hand side of the restaurant. It's extremely noticeable and behind the booths that look directly at the kitchen again layers of dust. So sad to see an amazing hotel look this dirty. Just makes you wonder what else may be going on
Once the architectural muse for the Empire State Building, the historic R.J. Reynolds building is now home to The Kimpton Cardinal Hotel. We’ve enjoyed mixing Southern manners and modern flair, with a little mischief thrown in. Relax each afternoon over sweet tea and cheese straws, and evenings during our wine hour, in a lobby that feels like a lavish Carolina living room. Step outside to explore downtown Winston-Salem and her thriving art, music and foodie scene.
