Worst Hotel Ever

Please note that I am a former hotel owner and general manager. I am a former CHA (Certified Hotel Administrator) and a CHO (Certified Hotel Owner). This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in by far. We pre-paid for two rooms for two nights. Both rooms were dirty and the air conditioning did not work in either room. We got very little sleep the first night. We had zero confidence in the hotel staff to take care of the problems at hand. So we decided to check out and find other accommodations which was near impossible due to the busy travel weekend on Zakynthos. We returned at 1 PM when we could speak with the owner/manager. We explained why our rooms were unsatisfactory and why we could not stay. We asked for a refund but the man refused. Five hundred and sixty Euros went down the drain. We have just been told however that we could file a complaint with booking.com and try to get our money back. We have also been told that we can report this hotel to Greece's tourism office/police. We are going to do that. Please do not stay at this hotel. In addition to the issues with the room, the hotel has several unusual policies. These are included in the printed confirmation but are still ridiculous. They include a requirement that a passport be presented for all occupants of the room, including children. A 50 Euro cash deposit is required even if you have a credit card. The hotel wifi password changes every day. The staff will not give you the password. You must bring your device to them each day and allow them to type the wifi password into your device. These are just a few of the ridiculous hotel policies that guests are subjected to. It was a dirty, hot prison cell rather than a hotel room. The staff attitude and the hotel's unfriendly policies reinforced the prison feel. Please do not stay here.
