Excellent 10.0
Pros: Gorgeous views, historic home and friendly staff made this a wonderful hideaway in Stone Town
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Clean Great staff Located right in centre of Stone Town
Excellent 9.0
Pros: We stayed at Coffee House for two nights and had the best time. It's authentic, in a great location, fantastic view from the rooftop, amazing coffee, delicious breakfast and the staff are first class. Noreen was really lovely and very responsive to emails from the beginning - she also gave us a free upgrade to the Bourbon suite! Transfers to and from the airport and within Zanzibar are reasonably priced so would definitely recommend using them.
Cons: everything was great!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything was spectacular. They upgraded us to the best room. Definitely tbe best coffee in whole Tanzania or Zanzibar. Our vest breakfast so far as well. Don't miss out the passion fruit juice or the avocado toast in the rooftop! Thank you for everything was amazing!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Beautiful well kept old style hotel.
Cons: Water pressure is low. Lighting in rooms is a bit harsh without lamp shades
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I had a great unique stay at Zanzibar Coffee House for 2 nights in the elegant Arabica suite. The room is so authentic and nicely decorated with its private bathroom. The Rooftop Terrace is simply gorgeous with nice views, you can enjoy good coffee and desert too. Noreen, the Hotel Manager is amazing, she gave me a room upgrade for the first night. She is very responsive to all my e-mails and arranged for me all the transportation required during my stay in Zanzibar including my PCR test. This Hotel is charming and you feel like you have gone back in time. I would definitely come back again.
Cons: Nothing at all!

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very good location for walking all over the city. Very close to the beach. The hotel itself has so much character and is just absolutely adorable. Our room had plenty of space and the decorations were beautiful. The bathtub was spectacular in the Kijani room. The owned rand manager Daniela is as welcoming as they come and made us feel like family. We were sad to have only stayed one night! I could recommend this hotel all day!
Cons: Nothing!
Good 7.0
Pros: The owner of the place was a lovely lady, the staff were very friendly
Cons: The room had no toilet hose
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Breakfast was great, You can eat there very well and take from big variety if food. Every room has it own specific character..... owner and staff are very nice:)
Cons: The rooms has its character, beautiful furniture and etc.... but I think floors should have been renowated in some beautifule style to complete good design.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The building is full of character and has a lot of history. Location is excellent for walking to the sea front and around Stone Town. Despite being central, it is very quiet and peaceful.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: From the warm welcome with the tasty welcome drink to the arranged taxi ride home, my stay was perfection ! Each night there was a turndown service, and each morning a fantastic spread for breakfast (think eggs and baked beans or French toast and fresh hibiscus and fruits) - oh and coffee served early on the balcony upon request. I loved all the details from the refillable soaps in the luxurious tub, silk bathrobes to feel like the Sultanah of the room, the incense, the map with pins for the guests. They also booked me a Stonetown walking tour and a massage on the 3rd floor suite in the airy suite - all great services.
Cons: Nothing to say ! All good.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Amazing staff, well located, thoughtfully decorated, brilliant breakfast and fantastic wifi.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Very nice hotel in stone Town. Nice location at the end of the beach. Very nice room and super comfortable bed. When we arrived at the hotel we asked them to make a dinner reservation for us at a restaurant outside, which they organised. The breakfast was very nice with lots of options.
Cons: The room was very noisy, we could hear people outside till maybe 2am. The service by the pool was a little bit slow.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staff is amazing so kind and friendly, location is fabulous
Cons: Little bit old need renovation
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This was my second stay in Park Hyatt and as expected it was amazing! The staff are very welcoming and professional. Anything you need you will find it! Special thanks to Mr. Bakari, James, the housekeeping guy, Lucy, Hope and Alex! They made our stay very special. If you are staying in Stone Town, then Park Hyatt should be your choice.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Location, food, view, guest experience service & daily free coconut. Loved the cocoanut cycle & basket. Staff are beyond amazing & caring . Lucy guest experience lady smart, knows a lot & supper helpful with ideas …
Cons: Everything amazing in This hotel.. this question does not fit park hyatt .
Mediocre 2.0
Pros: The location is good. It's near the places you would want to visit. Breakfast - lots of choices room is just ok it felt dated.
Cons: Didnt feel like I was staying at a 5 star hotel. The room and facilities seems dated.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: All well, there should be option if twin set up if required. Well handled by reservations. FO is excellent, well assistance from Room Division. Sorry if couldn't remember the name.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Breakfast staff were exceptional as well as quality of food
Cons: Booked 3 Rooms 2 of which were not ready on check in
Excellent 10.0
Pros: -I enjoyed the pool area and the breakfast options were great.
Cons: -My room was located towards the city and it was a bit noisy due to some birds...
Excellent 10.0
Excellent 9.7
Pros: Terrific hotel with wonderful pool, views, right on the beach, good food selection and quality, superb staff. A bit pricey for being right in stone town (and therefore not on the nicest beach), but a great place to stay for those who don't have time to get out to the further parts of the island

Good 7.0
Pros: Very well placed and the room service is excellent. Smiling, welcoming and helpful staff. Huge room with nice sunlight. Authentic and traditional decor.
Cons: The room wasn’t soundproof and we heard a lot of commotion from the restaurant above and us and the streets below us.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Everything was great we enjoyed so much and the stuff was so helpful, food was amaaaaazing, and great location at the center hope we see you soon guys Special thanks to mirage my friend 😁
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The location is great, the staff is really nice. Frank helped us with everything! The breakfast was delicious and fresh. The room was good size and equipped with everything that one would need.
Cons: Maybe a charging place close to the bed would have helped.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The location within the old town of Stone Town is perfect. We had an excellent breakfast at the rooftop which was really delicious and plenty. It won´t get any better. The view from the rooftop is loveöy as well. We have been greeted with a welcome drink which was a lovely suprise as well. Overall we had a great stay.
Cons: The price is relatively high for Zanzibar. The pictures look slightly better vs. reality to be honest. There was no hot water in our bathroom so you have to shower with almost cold water.
Good 7.0
Pros: The location and the interior design of the hotel were really good
Cons: - We were placed at the room that was located on the ground floor, it was so NOISY. You would hear people at the reception and people on the street plus motorcycles driving around early in the morning. It was pure madness, I had to wake up multiple times during my stay because of the noise - we were charged so much money for staying half a day to wait for our night flight - the bathroom at room #1 needs some maintenance, some things were actually broken and unusable for guests We stayed in both Kisiwa hotels, the one on the beach in Paje and the one in stone town. The difference of both experiences were like day and night!! Unfortunately our experience in Kisiwa house wasn’t as enjoyable as our stay in their sister hotel in Paje
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The breakfast was my favorite thing. Amazing customer service overall excellent experience. Would recommend to everyone!
Cons: Nothing loved everything!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent location and very friendly staff who try their best to help you with everything you need , big recommendation especially for Miraji

Excellent 9.0
Pros: beautiful property with a great location very helpful staff and the restaurant offers some very tasty food
Cons: the ferries noise in the morning except that it perfect
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lovely rooms and decor, very friendly and helpful staff
Cons: Breakfast was tasty but quite small
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The staff were really helpful, friendly, and efficient. It was a lovely little hotel and it really felt like we were guests in someone's home. The location was good, just on the edge of the heritage area in stone town so you get the feeling of being in the old town but it's easy to get from your hotel to the main road. The hotel can arrange anything for you and they do it with a smile.
Cons: The bathroom wasn't great. Water was too hot most of the time and the shower was too low for us and we're short! The breakfast was nice but portion was small and not very many options. The port is just opposite the hotel so it gets noisy very early on in the morning.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This boutique hotel is a real jewel in Stone Town. By the shore, close the airport, Arab colonial style structure, fully renovated. Excellent food, good advice for all excursions. Louisa is the real soul of the hotel, the auntie everybody would like to have. Highly recommended
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Second visit after 8 years and I felt home again. Loved it
Good 7.0
Cons: That they wanted to charge us double for airport pick up. Even though our flights landed close time wise. While confirming the the booking they should have clarified this, so that there wouldn’t be any misunderstanding. As we asked for help with our luggage at check out the receptionist rudely mentioned that that’s not free of charge, we would have to pay the guy. Obviously we are not creatures with no manners…of course we were going to tip the guy.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Loved the cultural touch and uniqueness.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: The hotel is very nice and the staff friendly. The hotel has a beautiful architecture, with spacious rooms, a small courtyard inside and a rooftop restaurant for breakfast. Rooms are decorated in an arabic style, with large beds, arch doors and lively colors. They don't have numbers, but names. The bathroom does indeed miss a door to separate it from the rest of the room, so it is best if you only stay with your spouse or close friends, as bathroom privacy is not available. A/C is also present in all rooms. Wifi is available everywhere in the premises, but it is restricted to guests. Permission to internet is only granted during your stay. Jafferji was one of the few places where I had a satisfactory breakfast in Tanzania. Besides the eggs, you may serve dishes from an open buffet until you are all full. The friendly staff is the strongest point of the hotel. People at the reception, especially Lucas Steven, were prompt to help us in any possible way. He helped us with directions through the twisted streets of the Old Town, printed our COVID test results (required for boarding the plane back), watched our luggage after check out. While waiting to leave, after check out, he served us delicious Tanzanian coffee. Hotel security is provided by the traditional Maasai, which sit in front of the hotel day and night.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Only reason I hate to give such a good review is that I want to keep this hidden gem to myself.. what a mesmerizing place, on a perfect location and the personnel couldn’t be better. We loved it here so much!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: We've stayed here multiple times and it never disappoints. Perfect location to explore Stone Town and the decor is the traditional Swahili style. Incredibly helpful staff assisted us in any way that they could. We'll be back!
Cons: Shame that the restaurant wasn't open for lunch/dinner.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Location in centre of stone town
Good 7.0
Pros: Cozy. Well decorated. Very friendly and helpful staff members. amazing location.
Cons: The breakfast could be better. Dental kits could be offered. And a bigger ration of water everyday.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Service and the staff, make you feel like home
Cons: Would be nice to include a dinner at the hotel otherwise great!

Good 7.0
Pros: Good location, nice sea view from balcony, cleaning so and so, it's an old hotel but this is its charm. Rather crowded.
Cons: Breakfast variety could have been better, it's more on Indian cuisine I guess. For 170 usd/ night you expect a good breakfast and to have hot water all the time. We've showered with cold water one day, only during night had hot water again.
Good 6.0
Pros: Breakfast amazing, a lot of choice and good quality , the location is perfect and the F&B staff very helpful and friendly
Cons: The attached building is litterally separated and far away from the complex, which was not properly explained upon reservation. The front of the House team is literally a disaster not willing to understand at all the guest needs nor the simplest things.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Location is why I choose this hotel.
Cons: Small room.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The location, Breakfast and Room is good
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Hotel is Butifull, we got upgreaded to a small apartment at Freddie Mercuri's house, location is perfect. We paid cash at check out and then the receptionist ran out to find us and returne us the payment, as we allready payed online
Cons: Did not stay at the main building, we got a room at the 4th floor with no elavator. Note they have a few buildings outside the main butiful one
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Nice pool, friendly staff and good restaurant. pretty good beach fenced from sellers. happy to have stayed and will return next time.
Cons: the wifi in the apartment across the street was a bit slow
Excellent 8.0
Pros: nicely decorated rooms, very close to Forodhani and Stone Town Heritage sites Staff are friendly and helpful. breakfast by the beach
Cons: Rooms are bit small and dark
Mediocre 2.0
Pros: Let me start by saying the good stuff about this hotel - location. Its located right on the beach so it’s quite accessible for taking boats and other beach activities. The hotel is actually a museum of sorts surround by ancient ornate objects to look around - that’s pretty cool. Apart from this, the rest is extremely overrated and average - the breakfast options were quite extensive but lacked good taste. The croissants had ants crawling on them - Compared to other hotels and places I lived in Zanzibar the reception staff was not that helpful. When asked for help with tours they just handed over a number, when asked for a late check out they extended by an hour at max inspite of prior request made on booking.com at the time of booking. If you’re looking for help with your activities/ visits it’s better to plan it yourself - The room was located in the annex building which was a two minute walk away. The furniture was ancient and so was the room. The drainage system in the bathroom had some major issue since during every shower water would collect below - The WiFi never worked across my stay here. Also the annex building being away the WiFi was controlled by the main building - so for any issues/complaints you had to come to the main building reception Overall for the price paid I think except location this doesn’t earn any brownie points from me. As a solo traveller I don’t recommend staying here.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: The building is great in that it captures a lot of history. It’s beautiful and in general well maintained. The location is excellent as well. The rooms were very big and comfortable. Breakfast is very, very good, especially the fruit selection.
Cons: The elevator didn’t work all 4 days of our stay and we were on the top floor. The staff is friendly but their command of the English language is lacking. Their parking is blocks away, at their sister hotel Tembo. The AC was too old/noisy and the beds could be upgraded as well. With a little investment this hotel could be top notch.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We had a great stay at this property. It is located right in Stonetown on the main street. Our room (penthouse) was literally on the roof top. Sensational view. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This is a beautifully traditional decorated property. The breakfast buffet and eggs cooked to order is very good. The Outdoor bathroom is a fabulous bonus in the roof top room.
Cons: This is a traditional old style property so there is no lift and the staff carry your bags up the stairs. This is not a downside to the hotel but I felt bad for the poor staff.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Location is excellent, staff are very kind and welcoming, entire place was charming and very authentic, service was great. All in all our stay was quite enjoyable and I'd highly recommend this place x
Cons: Room was a bit humid and lights were too dim even during the day. Everything else was charming
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The location is perfect for walking & exploring Stone Town. It’s a walking distance to all the places I wanted to visit/see in Stone Town. It’s very near the ocean. I love the old collections displayed in every nook of the hotel.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Everything was good. Historical building, comfortable, good breakfast. The location is in the heart and quite place of stone town
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The location is in the heart of stone town. There are nice art gallery and shops around. Famous beach restaurants like 6 degrees south, Tatu and The beach club, Emerson on Hurumuzi are all a 1-2 minute walk away. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room was on the 4th floor with a private terrace and this was the best experience for us as you can see stone town from a height. Our bathroom had an old style jacuzzi which was open to sky so that was a nice surprise as well. There are a few mosquitos and insects around but the beds have nicely sealed mosquito nets provided.
Cons: Breakfast could be improved.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Beautiful, historic building in a great location!
Excellent 9.1
Pros: This is a very unique and beautiful hotel...They take care of a lot of little details. I believe it was a little pricey - but it was also during the holiday season. Some nickel and diing- too much for taxis and so forth - ut a kind and attentive staff.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Very clean, very well maintained, impeccable security ensuring nobody enters the hotel who doesn't belong there, excellent breakfast on the rooftop and just 2 minutes from the ferry. Outstanding value for money!
Cons: The noise on Malawi Rd starts at 6 a.m.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The stuff is so helpful and friendly. The rooms are better than in the photos. Cozy and authentic. The roof restaurant is beautiful.
Cons: The location is a little bit crowded because it's in the middle of stone town. Narrow place to park. The idea of the shared bathroom, although they are clean.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff are friendly and efficient, the room is really clean and has the nice little extra touches, and the breakfast is really good. The cafe downstairs is really cute and has good food too. I highly recommend this place.
Cons: Everything was perfect
Good 7.0
Pros: - Location is good for the price you pay, only 10 min walk to the main sights - Bed was confortable - Great breakfast - Hotel staff is great and welcoming, from the receptionist to the cook or the room maid. - Given the price, I would definitely come back, as other places (front of the beach) are much more expensive.
Cons: - Hotel would probably need a bit of refurbishment - Bathroom outside the room, but I knew it before coming so can’t complain really
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beautiful place, perfect price quality experience, super helpful and friendly stuff, loved it! Rooms are spacious and bed is comfortable!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Good AC, nice and clean room, nice staff, decent on site restaurant, good location for my purposes... Excellent value for money!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I really enjoyed my stayed. Fabi, Jackeline and the rest of the staff were very nice and patient. They helping me with everything I ask, and I admit I was bit annoying. Thanks 🙌
Good 7.0
Pros: The location is great, close to the port, the old city and spice market, all possible to walk. The food is good and the prices moderate. For us the optimal location to our demands...
Cons: The rooms are very small also the bathroom was a squarefoot block... the way of invoicing as a bit strange, as it was said that the rooms are paid upfront from Booking com and I had to pay again when checking in, took a while to sort it out...
Excellent 9.7
Pros: The room was comfortable and a good size for me as a solo traveler. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and I was able to book several excursions through the reception desk. I also liked having the cafe available for meals, and the breakfast buffet upstairs.
Cons: The location was fine, but I would have liked to be slightly closer to the center of Stone Town.

Good 6.0
Pros: staff were really helpful in resolving the safe issue and we were moved to a new room. Great location for exploring stone town and getting boat trips.
Cons: Internet was patchy, unreliable. problems with our room safe necessitated a move of rooms. hot water took ages to run hot. breakfast selection was limited.
Good 7.0
Pros: The room was really nice and spacious and a lot bigger than we thought it would be which made the stay more enjoyable. The breakfast was also pretty good that was included. There was a decent amount that you could get and the staff was very friendly al around and all through the stay.
Cons: Our AC wasn’t working so mostly had our fans on high majority of the stay. Hot water was a little bit of a tricky situation to get when showering as sometimes there was hot water for a short period time and most other times the water just didn’t come out the shower at all so we usually showered during early morning or early evenings as this seemed to be the best time but sometimes it still had to be mildly warm as the hot water would come and go. And then only other thing was there was one day that housekeeping never brought us new linen after coming to clean the room and front desk wasn’t sure either where the linen was so for 1 night we had to sleep without any linen or duvet covers or so.
Okay 4.0
Pros: Location was nice, greenery, near by center.
Cons: Room was not properly clean, missing hand towels, missing shampoo, missing soap, misding toilet paper, only cold water and additional taxes which was not included in price I paid for room.
Okay 5.0
Pros: Staff were extremely friendly and warm. The location is excellent and in a very safe place. Staff organised a tour guide for us within 30 mins and that was great. Restaurant had a good selection of food but not many drinks were in stock. Decor is charming and has a lovely feel to it.
Cons: We were given the wrong room and we booked the superior room. When we walked in, the room was way smaller than what we expected. I thought the images misled us and that was what the room was. To my surprise the next morning, I saw the other room’s door open and that was the room we paid for. It turns out there was no mosquito net so they put us in a smaller room without even telling us. I was really upset by this as I paid more to have the superior room. I spoke to the manager who apologised for this and gave us $20 to use in the restaurant or taxi to the airport. I would have liked them to be honest with us but also they knew we were coming since April. The hotel was not full at all. Water was cold in the room with very little hot water more like tepid. Room was cramped with unnecessary furniture and since it’s a boutique hotel, more attention could’ve been paid to make rooms look nicer I.e. fresh flowers in a small vase ( flowers are everywhere btw). Bed was too hard and mosquito nets need cleaning and to be replaced. Breakfast was average and not served nicely e.g. poached eggs looked sloppy and bread was a tad hard. The restaurant need to have some stock of drinks as hardly anything was available.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The breakfast was great and the staff were extremely helpful(Hammim and Rukia in particular). The bed was very comfortable
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Room style is unique, big and with all you need. Location is one of the best, in the Kelele Square is one of the only areas of the old lanes with full lightning.
Cons: Breakfast could be better
Okay 5.0
Pros: People were nice
Cons: Poor internet, bad Tv No ironing facility, Struggled initially with safety box Soap/ shampoo was hardly decent
Excellent 9.0
Cons: The room is very clean. This is a big plus for this hotel. I had 2 other accomodation in Stone Town (even expensive than this) but i would rate the cleanliness of this hotel's room the highest.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff was really great and we loved our beautiful room. Also the restaurant downstairs was fabulous. Avoid the chain hotels and stay in this charming and well situated hotel!
Mediocre 3.4
Pros: Nice building and location.
Cons: The room had a strong smell of mould. It was advertised as 33 m² but was not more than 11 m². There was barely room to get into the bed on either side of the single bed. The room was advertised as having a double bed. Since my night there, I have had a persistent chronic cough.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Beautiful artichecture and rooms, 5-6m ceilings are impressive and wonderful terassse Very central location Helpful staff
Cons: Quite noisy (our windows were on the street side on the 2nd floor during the festive period, but also any noises in the building were very audible)
Good 7.0
Pros: -rooftop -location
Cons: -no wifi in room, only Lobby and rooftop
Okay 5.0
Pros: The beds and the interior finishing
Cons: The swimming pool, you better stop lying 🤥
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I had an amazing view from the window. The room interior was very atmospheric. The terrace for breakfast, where the bar and restaurant are located is nice and one of the best choices in the city to enjoy the sunset with a refreshing drink. Stuff is friendly and always ready to help. Close to another place which is highly recommended to be visited if you’re a coffee fan - the coffee house. Coffee there is something fantastic. Thanks a lot for a lovely stay!
Cons: Wi-fi works only at reception or at the terrace, no wi-fi in rooms at all.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Great services, wonderful breakfast, and MR. BAKARI is an excellent man and a loyal and highly professional hotel manager that increases the company's good name. Thank you Mr. Bakari, I would like to meet you again one day...
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Nice, big rooms. Amazing and helpful staff. Great roof top bar with wonderful view on the city.
Cons: No internet connection in rooms.

Poor 1.0
Pros: location was perfect and right on the beach, efficient and friendly staff and did the best they could helping us with switching to a better room
Cons: hotel is supposed to be 5* and is priced as 5* but thats where it ends. For what we paid we could get a beautiful 5* resort hotel in dubai. Rooms are old and grubby, dirty, bathroom fixtures old and some falling off, all needs renovating. Pool water is clean (and freezing) but the grating is disgustingly mouldy. Sunbeds falling apart Breakfast was awful and evening meal in the restaurant returned. Dont waste your money. If we had paid half it wouldnt have been too bad but I still wouldnt return.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent breakfast, courteous and efficient staff
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.0
Pros: I stayed in the same hotel chain in other locations and found them all to be wonderful
Cons: I thought the showers/bathrooms needed a bit of work. It would be great if they change some of the appliances and give it a new look
Okay 4.0
Pros: Clean
Cons: Mattress very uncomfortable and no consideration for people sleeping with constructions going on in the room next to us at 9am although there were very few people in the hotel. Also was very expensive not worth $275 per night at all, ive stayed in Super Luxury hotels for that price per night and this is not one of them.
Excellent 9.0
Cons: Superb team of staff who went out of their way to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. Highly recommended!
