Wonderful staff...delicious food (we're the ones who ordered extra potato salad, just like my Grandmother Schmitt's)...beautiful scenery...excellent accommodations.

Our stay was one of the highlights of our overseas trip. The staff and the owner - Frau Eickler - were so friendly and welcoming we felt like old friends. The location in the Tombach valley is fantastic with great views and fantastic walk trails starting right at the door of the hotel. The food was fantastic and the location of the hotel was also perfect for our visit to Schwartzwald Stube, just down the road. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a warm, friendly hotel and some peace and quiet.

“Nice hotel perfectly located for hiking trips. The staff is very kind and helpful. The room was clean and of the perfect size. The breakfast buffet was partially available (due to Corona regulations) and most of the food and drinks (i.e. ham, cheese, boiled eggs, bread etc) were brought directly to our table. Overall a very nice experience!”

“Spacious room with a fantastic view! We got the Jr Suite while we paid for a standard room. No aircon but even at 38 degrees Celsius outside it was absolutely fine with the shades down. Loved the atmosphere, style, authentic, good value for money. Food & drinks from restaurant were pretty good, we did not really plan on it but ended up eating here 3 nights. Very friendly staff in traditional clothing. Breakfast excellent. Easy parking, walking paths few steps away, 400m from village with some Michelin star restaurants and shop with dirndl dresses. Great area. You really come here for the peacefulness, you hear the water stream from the small river down the hill. Wonder how pretty it will be in winter season.”

“Excellent quiet location with great hiking right outside. Welcoming, friendly, and very helpful. Breakfast was good and the cakes were amazing, we tried 5 different ones! The restaurant food is highly recommended. We stayed 3 nights and every evening after a full day out sightseeing and hiking it was wonderful to return to a warm and comfortable house.”
