Very convenient for walking tour of the city. Ideally placed for bars and restaurants in the old quarter.
Tea and coffee in the room would have been nice. Vending machines in reception not quite the same.

Great location and value for your money
Great location - right across the street from the Gothic Quarter, but not right in it, so very easy to get to. Nice, helpful staff. Clean rooms. On a main street, but rooms were still very quiet. I'd recommend staying here!

Hotel Ciutadella
The Hotel Ciutadella is a very quaint boutique hotel. It is only 4 stories, with a small number of rooms. The rooms are good sized, and decorated nicely. Several other reviews mention a foul odor emitting from the bathroom drains. I could detect this odor too, but at least it wasn't overpowering, at least not in my room. I was fortunate to request and receive an upper floor room (4th), so I would just leave the exterior bathroom door open, and close the interior bathroom door; this seemed to solve the odor problem. FYI, there are 2 small balconies in each room (one bathroom and one main room), both equipped with French double doors. Everything in the tourist area of Barcelona is within a 1-20 minute walk. The metro is located just a couple minutes away. The staff was outstanding, very courteous and helpful. I would definitely return to this hotel, should I ever return to Barcelona.

I got the feeling that because we booked thru a third party travel site we were given the worst room. Our room faced inward very little light, no view of anything. We were there 5 nights and asked to be moved but they would not give us an outside room.
