Pros:Think back to your dorm room in college. If you went to a public college. And your parents didn’t pay extra to put you in one of the nice dorms. Bare bones. Mattress is very basic. Room is clean and lots of space. Bathroom clean and hot water was consistent. Fantastic location in a fantastic neighborhood. Something to note is Villa Gracia is mainly a residential area that does not attract the tourists that other parts of Barcelona does. It is about 2 miles from Barcelona’s historical center. Villa Gracia has the coffee shops, boutiques, and restaurants reminiscent of hip Brooklyn, but surrounded by a traditional/quaint Spanish neighborhood. Definitely plan on walking around one or two evenings to sit in Placa de Sant Joan, check out a few shops and get a drink at one of the many bar cafes. Mama’s Café, Elephanta (awesome gin and tonic bar with wonderful bartenders), and Polleria Fontana were our favorite spots to eat and drink. Residencia Erasmus was merely a cheap way for us to stay in the heart of the neighborhood of Gracia; it was nothing more and nothing less.
