Disliked the attitude of hotel
The Hotel in conveniently located in the garment district. Macy’s is less than a block away. The rooms are very small, with a huge walking closet. I must say the rooms and lobby is very clean.
I chose this hotel among others in the area for the price, this was quoted $20 lower than a Hilton Garden Inn who is literally across the street. When checking out I was give the surprise that you have to pay what they call a “Tailored Fee”. Basically you pay $29 plus tax $32 in total, for “water (two small bottles found on top of the mini refrigerator, coffee (I don’t remer a coffee machine in the room) and internet. This is very annoying since I chose the hotel for the price they quoted and not for the hotel itself. After hearing this shocking news on my way out, was never mentioned at check in nor I remember seeing in the web page, I began to notice all the annoying defects that I had accepted because I payed less than sorrounding hotels, like no heater in the room on a winter February night, small bedroom, ancient elevator, and the worst was the terrible attitude that the sole employee who checked me in had. She spent ten minutes on the phone with what sounded like a previous client while I stood there waiting. Maybe she is the one to blame for not mentioning this fee. Anyways, this ridiculous fee, which the man at the check out claims is a norm in New York City to me is a a typically Bait and Switch. Be aware if you decide to choose this hotel, I will not come back to it, I feel ripped off.
