Budapest hotels in District I - Várkerület

Cons: The carpets were dirty, the bedding was well worn and the towels were the same. Do not be confused by dirty in that you will not find garbage all around the place, it was very clean in that regard. The rooms are just very well worn and it is time to replace some of the materials. The shower has a glass wall that does not do well enough of a job to keep water from reaching the floor in quantity. It was also odd that there was no tissue paper. Some communications work could be improved on. We arrived for a two night stay and I had picked the hotel because it had a well rated restaurant attached. The first night we went for dinner there. On the second day we went out and had a long day of seeing the sights with the plan to chill there in the restaurant. When we arrived there was a notice that the restaurant was closed for a private function. We could have ordered room service, but the room is not conducive to eating and frankly did not feel clean enough. We should have been told when we checked in and then we could have gotten something before coming back to the hotel.

Cons: No real complaints, but the bed was a little too hard for my wife but fine for me. I know folks want you to buy there stuff in the in-room refrigerator, but it would be nice if it had a little room to store a sandwich or a bottle of your own pop.

Cons: Staff was competent but not friendly At breakfast, the host communicated mainly by gestures and resented any questions. Free WIFI was glacially slow and not really usable.

Cons: That we got a smojing room without asking for it. Room did not smell. But feelt in the morning like cigarette smoke came from maybe ventilation.

Cons: 1. Buffet Breakfast spread: would have expected more for a 4/5 star hotel. 2. The main road from (Batthyány Square) although is lighted up. But there are 'funny characters' and drunks lurking and appearing at darker corners and adjoining smaller streets at night. 3. The underground metro is also full of 'drunks' and homeless screaming and begging for money.

Cons: I liked everything. No, I loved everything. There was literally nothing I didn't love.

Cons: Windows with view in interior court.

Cons: Rooms are small. At least one water bottle should be supply once a day stay. If the hotel rating 4 star hotel then it should be.

Cons: I have stayed in a different Mercure hotel in the past and I was very happy. This hotel however was a total disappointment. The room look like it has not been upgrade in 10-15 years. The carped in the room was extremely dirty, old and faded.
