So, the location is very convenient and I love the fact that my dog stays free. I know I didn't pay a ton of money and didn't expect a super premium hotel, but I've stayed here before and so I thought I knew what I was getting. The key card system does not work very well. It took at least 10 tries each time to try to get into the building, and even more to get into the room. Once when leaving, the door release didn't work - and that's just a button on the inside to release the lock. I think the system needs a good once over. The room smelled gross. I expected this, my room smelled gross the last time. I can kind of be okay with this because I know it's old and I know that dogs are free, so some people don't take as good of care of hotels if they have pets. So, not really the hotel's fault I guess? Just maybe some air fresheners or a good steam clean of the carpet would be nice. The mattresses, however, were atrocious. They dipped down in the middle on one side. I don't know if this was a bedframe issue or mattress, but it was so bad. I stayed with my boyfriend in a room with 2 queen sized beds, and the beds were both so terrible we ended up each sleeping in a different bed on the "good sides" because there was absolutely no support. Also, on the way out on our first night, the door handle came off of the door. Just, I went to turn it and it popped off. Thankfully, we were able to get out (we were in a rush so didn't request help). I'm sure that if we did request assistance it would have been given, but we were almost late for an event so we just had to get out and get going. The lady at the front desk was very polite and I had no issues with her, just the quality of the hotel is very very poor. I always stay in "cheap" hotels when I go to events out of town because I figure I'm not going to be spending much time in the room anyway, but this stay will definitely make me think twice.
