I had set up the “skip the line” pickup, only to find the kiosk wasn’t working on my arrival. I’d recommend calling ahead to check. Car cleanliness was mediocre; I rented a minivan, and found crackers under the seats and juice box residue on the interior from a previous renter’s kids. My biggest recommendation is to CHECK YOUR RECEIPT! I had filled the gas tank past the “full” line, yet found a charge for 3 gallons at $4.62 a gallon. I called to complain, and they immediately refunded the charge. Overall a mediocre experience.

Staff was relatively friendly and helpful, vehicle was excellent.The vehicle was not waiting for us when we arrived. We had to wait over 30 minutes for a vehicle to arrive at the facility. Communication of this was poor as we were told the wait would be only 10 minutes and I believe we were not immediately notified when our vehicle was ready.

When we picked up the vehicle it only had 1/4 of a tank of gas so we had to wait 20 minutes for them to go put gas in it. When we returned the vehicle we stopped about 20 minutes from the city to fill it up and we were still charged for 3 gallons of gas at 10.00 a gallon, which is absolutely ridiculous.

Drop off was super easy and the van was perfect for our needsMy flight was delayed by 3 hours, so instead of getting in at 9:00 pm it was midnight. When I got to the Alamo rental in the airport the entire garage was empty of cars. There were about 8 of us in line with nothing that we could do but wait to see if more cars were brought over, the employee said that they had overbooked and were waiting for more cars to be turned in and cleaned up. It was after 2:00 am when I got my car, thank goodness I kept my email confirmation because they wanted to charge me an extra $125 even though I picked up the car 5 hours later than I originally scheduled it for. I guess car rental companies are like airlines, they overbook "hoping" people don't show up but when everyone does the customers just get mad and end up having a poor experience.

Vehicle is new, very comfortable, ran fantastic. Very easy to rent a car at this airport and to return it. The you g lady who took me to my van was awesome!The guy working at the desk is unfriendly and didn’t seem to enjoy his job working with people. Second time I’ve had the same experience with someone working at this counter at this airport. When I pulled a van around to pick up my family at baggage claim we realized someone had not put the flooring back correctly and it was difficult for them to quickly get in because they were two huge holes when you open the side van doors. We had to find a good spot once we left the airport where we could get out and put the flooring back the way it was supposed to be. I cannot imagine how difficult this would have been if I were picking up children instead of Teenagers. The seats fold down into the floor and someone had apparently pulled the seats back up where they belong but never bothered to put the flooring back right when they were cleaning it.

Staff was great - efficient and helpful. Everything was on time and easy!! Thank you!! 😊Car was not what we ordered - the minivan we paid for was damaged so you exchanged it w a Nissan Pathfinder. This car was clean and perfect in every way - except it did not have quite enough room - which is why the minivan was ordered. I understand things happen -and I really appreciated you having a substitute car ready for us when we arrived! Unfortunately my boss who booked the rental said he paid extra for a minivan, and total invoice seemed even higher than he expected. He was not happy we paid too much for a substitute, especially as we later had to finagle people and luggage around.

I ordered a Tahoe or similar and they didn’t have anything but a van. Had to come back to get the van and then waited 30 minutes the second time I came back for it. When I drove off the tank wasn’t even full. It was only at 1/4 tank. When I went to drop off the vehicle a few hours early at 7:50 am the manager told me they don’t open for 10 minutes. From beginning to end was a terrible experience. Left the keys in a drop box and left.

Sent to wrong vehicle loaded up then told to get everything out to another vehicle same exact model, I was traveling with a group of 5 as such took quite a bit of time. Was given discounted rate by representative for upgrade final bill did not reflect this agreement, the vehicle was dirty inside and out actually wiped and cleaned the inside myself. Overall would not recommend nor will I ever rent from Them again.

Charlotte desk was poor. (1)I had recently renewed my license but it had not been received in the mail. My "old" license was still good for another 2 months but she would not accept. My spouse thankfully was there to be the renter. The agent then put a $700 hold on our credit card . (2) Only a few cars available and the one we rented was a 2018 with the 2 front tires completely BALD.

When we picked up our car with Dollar, we received rude service from the woman working the desk. She was not detailed about where to pick up the car and when we got there there were only 2 to choose from (this was mid morning). We took the better of the two but that was still stained all over the outside. After driving it for a few hours, we realized the breaks were grinding incredibly loudly and seemed like the pads were completely worn out. Customer service took ages when I called but I was able to switch out the car for something safer. That car still had issues as a back light above the license plate was hanging down. Worst rental car experience I’ve ever had and will not be renting with Dollar again.

The rental counter was closed. There was no one there to give us our rental car. No where in the pickup/drop off materials online did it indicate that the counters in NC close at midnight. Our flight got in late and not having a rental car ruined our trip. We relied on a car being made available to us.

Prices were incredibly high due to COVID so we chose Hertz as the promised car was a Ford Fusion hybrid which we were excited about trying. When we arrived, we were given a Toyota Corolla which was a pretty small, bare-bones model for the extravagant amount we paid for four days.

We reserved a car…we were given a pick-up truck. The truck cab smelled like smoke , it was dirty and the “no washer fluid” light flashed the first time we started the truck. It was the worst experience I have ever had renting a car!

The agent was very keen on upselling the coverage. She claimed she also has our brand of insurance and it wouldn’t cover our rental. We’ve checked and it absolutely does. Left us with a bad taste. And the car wasn’t full when we got in.

I put in CLT, as I was renting a car from the airport in Charlotte. The computer gave me a reservation for a car, out of a Hertz complex on South Blvd, near downtown Charlotte. I made a quick reservation, at the airport, with another company.

The price was 3 times as much because I needed to return to my hometown after being told that no vehicles were available through the actual rental company BUT Kayak had available vehicles. Imagine that. Additionally when I went to return, the receiving company was closed and the driveways blocked by cones making me first question how or what to do to return. Secondly the box to drop keys off was about a half acre away and it was pouring rain! This also isn't a great part of town for someone to be in so it was very disappointing that no communication about all of these issues had taken place. The "customer service" number yielded zero results as I was never able to speak to anyone and nont one of the prompts was what the issue was as in returning.

I like the person who Assisted me when I got to the location. she’s really helpful and handles everything with professionalism but What I didn’t like is they gave me a faulty car. The signal lights are not working by the time I notice and tried to bring back and exchange the car the office is already close. So I had no choice but to use that car. I almost got into couple of accidents because of that.

No traveler should arrive at 11 pm (or any time for that matter) and find around 30 people in line with ONE person working. The sign also was not clear as it appeared the line was only for Avis customers. The sole person was at the Avis counter and no one was at the Budget counter. There was a sign that said "Fastmark" or something Budget customers go upstairs. Since no one was at the Budget counter, I went upstairs. After waiting in line there,the lady told me I have to go back downstairs to the merged Avis / Budget line. Of course, there were more people waiting in line by then. I waited a bit pissed off and saw other car rental companies with one to five people in line. So I went over to Enterprise and got a car without a reservation. Meanwhile, after getting my papers, I looked back at the combined Avis /Budget line and felt sorry for those people who were still in line. I was probably in my room 20 minutes from the airport before some of those people at the Avis / Budget line even got to the counter. It is inexcusable for a company to have ONE person working a counter when they know flights are coming in with reservations. Now, I have to deal with getting my money back from Budget........

Budget staffed the counter at CLT with one employee, occasionally two. There were at least 30 people in line, some with car reservations, resulting in wait times over 40minutes to pick up cars. Some customers were in line for well over an hour. The counter agent gave information on under 25 year old drivers which contradicted information readily available on Budget’s website, & made our trip much more tiring. If we hadn’t been waiting for 45minutes to pick up the car we’d reserved, and if the line to pick up cars hadn’t extended out of the corral & past other rental counters, we’d have discussed the discrepancy with the counter agent. The vehicle we were assigned was very dirty (the windshield was especially filthy), cigarette burn holes decorated all the upholstery, there was known damage of which we were not informed, the routine maintenance required indicator accompanied us for the entirety of the trip - and the car *reeked* of cigarette smoke. The funk that roiled out of the vents every time the car was turned on (immediate recirculing air is an undesirable feature of the model) was disgusting. Admittedly, it wasn’t vile enough to send us back to the counter-where-time-stood-still. We drove with the windows down whenever possible, if not prudent. Budget charged over $1,000 for the privilege of renting the rolling ashtray for 5days. While it’s not standard practice to speculate about Budget’s allocation of the fees, for this experience, at least, it’s painfully obvious the money’s not being put toward staffing, employee training, maintenance, cleaning, or quality control.

I literally spent all day on the phone with agents after booking a car that WAS NOT AVAILABLE. It is unacceptable have cars listed online and the local locations DO NOT have inventory available. After spending countless hours driving around to attempt to fulfill my reservation, it was CANCELED and I was still charged $50 to my credit card. I then needed to dispute this charge with my credit card company. SUCH A HASSEL!Honesty about inventory. Online sales should reflect what is in fact available on site.

When I went to Advantage rental counter, they informed me that the car could not be taken out of a four state area, due to insurance rules. I planned to drive out of the four state area during my vacation. No where in the website used for the reservation, did this information appear, I only saw that the rental included "unlimited mileage. I hope there is NO charges, since the rental from Advantage was not used.

The van did not pick us up. We waited 40 plus minutes and had to take a cab to their location. The local phone number given to us went to a national location. We could not get info as to when we might have been picked up. The local Payless employee could have not been less helpful and offered no apology. We will never use Payless again.

Then called national 800 number, actually spoke to a human who assured me a shuttle was on the way. After waiting another 10 minutes I walked inside and rented from another company. Not worth the hassle and wasting an hour of your life waiting for their shuttle bus. Will not rent from Payless ever

I picked up the car with quarter tank of gas with 5536 meter mileage and returned the car with half tank full of gas with 5574 meter mileage. I only drove 38 miles for whole rental. I added 5.162 gallon of gas which is about half full of tank. Payless Car Rental girl wanted me to pay up to full of tank gas and charged me additional $18.07 for fuel charge. I felt I got robbed

The car wasn’t ready so we had to wait 15 more minutes after getting there, even though we were almost two hours later than we had reserved the car for. The car was smelled like an ash tray and was filthy with crumbs in the cup holders and stains on the seats.

I have visited the office as my reservation, and the guy in the office refused to give me the car and refused to complete my booking, I give him all the needed documents: 1- Valid passport with valid B1 US visa 2- valid international driver license (Jordanian license) 3-Valid credit card with my name printed on the card 4- my booking confirmation number the employee refused and said I have my own role and I can't complete the reservation here because you hold a non US-driver license, he said you can go to avais office in Charlotte airport, I called the airport office and they said we are fully booked, but you must be okay with your reservation according to our policy I returned to the office and I talked to the same guy (he refused to tell me his name), I told him this is your policy in regard to international travelers and you can find it in your website if you don't want to read it from my phone, and there's nothing prevent you to complete my booking and give me the car, he refused again and said I have my own roles and I don't have car's for you and I'm done with you, you must leave because it's 6:00 PM and I want to close the office. And he left me outside without a car and without being able to complete my reservation and he disrupt my whole plan which I rent a car to do it. Unprofessional, rude and disrespectful employee and I will never deal with this disgusting company (Avis) anymore.

Super long lines to pick up, had to spend 1 hour with a toddler in line and no other lines at any other rental agency. Accepted a car with a 1/4 tank (which I was happy to do) just to get a car faster. Felt really bad for the workers having to deal with it all. If you can’t turn them around fast enough, don’t set them up. Set up for failure.

I am very upset. I cancelled my reservation 2 weeks ahead of the pick up date. Today I found out they charged my card for non-cancel of the car. This better get corrected or I will go to the higher ups to get it back. $50 for not cancelling and I did.

Pick up and drop off we’re good.Cleanliness was bad. Inside and out, had to clean it myself before I let my family inside. Used mask on floor, fake fingernails on the floor. Sticky substance on the console. Some type of substance in back covey compartment in the back that I could get removed with my hands. Outside was dirty and with some hardened dirt(?). Plus there were painted numbers on front and side windows that would not come off with cleaner, I assume was painted on. But the worst part was the driving. Once it got to speeds of 60 or more the inside would shake and vibrate. Can you imagine having to deal with that for a week and a half of driving. What a major pain. At least the steering wheel did not shake. But it did vibrate like everything else inside. So had to deal with rattling sound all the time. I suspect the alignment is way off. I did let the check out person know this concern when I dropped it iff.

I did an online reservation for a car and then called ahead to confirm the pickup. When I arrived they said they had no vehicles. I wasted money and time on an Uber to go get a vehicle that they didn’t even have. The front desk staff said “I told them to stop accepting reservations, we ain’t got no cars”

Professional, friendly reps.The representative said his only vehicle available was delivered from the airport location and the car had a heavy smoke smell. He said I could take it to the airport location to swap for another car. I appreciate it made the offer but don’t understand why the airport location provided the car to the other location knowing of the smoke problem. I did drive the 6 miles to the airport to make the swap. Personnel at both locations were friendly and professional.

Your system (kayak) let me book a rental at an Avis location that wasn’t open on the day that I needed to pick it up. I didn’t find out about this until a few days before the rental when Avis called me. I had to find a new rental and process has gone up significantly. I used Priceline this time.

Thrifty and Kayak -- Bad combinationI made two Thrifty Car reservations using Kayak. When I tried to pick up the first car Thrifty said the reservation was cancelled. Sure enough, I checked the Kayak paperwork and the reservation cancelled automatically two hours before the scheduled pick up time. I checked the next reservation 3 days in the future and found that it too automatically cancelled 2 hours before the scheduled pick up. I called both Kayak and Thrifty and neither could change it. Absolutely useless.

They made it so easy and were so very friendly!!The location was close to the airport, the shuttle was clean and easy to find, and the employees were so kind and very efficient!

The highlight of this experience was surrendering the vehicle.It was exhilarating being reprimanded by the check in desk for declining their own insurance, even though I had already purchased insurance via Kayak.The rented Ford Fiesta may have once been a viable vehicle, but the transmission barely cycled--leaving me stranded more than once in the middle of intersections. What a piece of junk.

Worse than the DMVA single person running the counter when checking in. Zero ability to answer questions. The car treated me like a teenager with having speed limited to 80, volume limited to 9, seat belts that would shut off the radio if they weren't plugged in. There wasn't a drive to pick us up from the location to go back to the airport. Overall, the situation was a disaster.

The Handling of the CarThe handling of the car that I was given was terrible. It was very sensitive, which made it tough to drive especially when on the highway. In addition, the lady at the counter said the upgrade was $12 and when I got the receipt, it as $20.

Great car, great rate, sketchy location and unhelpful employeesThe car was brand spankin' new, for an unfathomably low price. Drove well, great gas mileage. If you pay by credit card, don't get the insurance! Your credit card company most likely has car rental insurance built in (obviously, you should double check first). Don't let them try to push insurance on you.The location is pretty awful and not on the Airport grounds. The folks working there are not helpful, slow, and don't understand customer service.

Not what I purchasedI purchased a specialty car that was shown as a smaller suv on Kyak. When I got to Thrifty I was given a compact car. They asked if I wanted to upgrade to what I got online- for double the price. WILL NOT go through Kayak/Thrifty again!

Pros: the price was excellent Cons: - the car smelled like smoke - the checkout process took a while. I’ve never had this happen before but they called my car insurance company to confirm that my insurance was valid. They were on hold and had to be transferred a couple times and then they had me talk to the agent. - pickup was complicated. There were no signs for Ace in the airport for shuttles, and they didn’t have a counter at the airport like the other car rental places. I had chosen the airport location so I thought there would be something indicating what to do. I ended up calling the number on my reservation and finally was able to talk to a person who gave me a number to call to figure out the shuttle. Also looking at the reservation I saw that it was really close to 6pm when the place closed so instead we ordered an Uber to take us. -drop off was complicated. Based on our pickup experience we called ahead and asked for the shuttle to be ready to take us to the airport at 1:45pm. We arrived at 1:43 and the shuttle didn’t come until 2. At that point we were running late. We asked the driver multiple times to take us to southwest in the departures area. He started going towards arrivals and we yelled to take us to departures but he just took us to arrivals instead and seemed very confused.

The name of the place is not Ace. Also they didn’t not have any insurance to offer you to add protection to your vehicle. Also smelled like smoke!

They ran out of cars and closed the office. We showed up in an Uber and were left outside since the office was closed, at 2:30 in the afternoon. We had a reservation. They did not call us. We had to take another Uber to another location. Completely unacceptable and will never book with them again.

They should have mentioned that there were no cars available before I drove all the way over to the place to pick my rental car up. Instead, they mention it after I got my confirmation code and after I drove all the way up to the store. Smh

The gentleman at the counter was nice.I had to take my car back to the rental car place and get a replacement. The car's seat were filthy with burns in them. The car also had a sputter that made it seem as if it was going to cut off. It was replaced with a better care, but still there were scratches and dings on it as well. I would not recommend or use Ace rental car again.

Nothing, I got pulled over by the police because the car had the wrong plate on it. They thought the vehicle was stolen. Ace didn't give me another, nor did they changed the plates.They could have refunded me my money back or gave me another car.

They said they called me the morning of to tell me that there were no cars available, however, I never received that call. I showed up to the rental office and no one was working. I had to call a number to find out what was going on and I was told there was nothing they could do.
