Decent rental
Pros: Car drove nicely and was fairly new; rental agent was very friendly and helpful at GSP.
Cons: Car was not cleaned; it had trash from the previous renter, and the previous renter's contract, inside. Outside was dirty.
Pros: great rental. quick check out and in, great car.
Hybrid
Pros: The agent gave me three choices and recommended the Ford Focus Hybrid. Good car and great gas mileage. Drove from from Greenville/Spartanburg airport to Black Mountain, NC and locally in BM over the weekend and back to the airport on Sunday. Only used $10 of as. Plus the price for the rental could not be beat.
Cons: There was a dent in the passenger door and after walking to the car, I had to walk back to the ticket punter to let them know.
Pros: Car was ready, no waiting at arrival. Car return was also extremely efficient.

When i returned the car at the terminal, i needed a ride to Stevens Aviation, about a mile away. The people at Enterprise took care of getting me there. Excellent service.

Pros: The staff was attentive and very helpful. The car was clean and I haven't been experiencing this with other companies lately.

Pros: The counter personnel at pick up and drop off were very professional and enthusiastic even though they were busy.
I could'nt find my car at pick up and one of the counter people stepped out and located it for me. The Car was very comfortable and had all the necessary buttons to make a long journey tolerable.

Pros: Everything EXCEPT for the car I rented (Nissan Sentra) was to-notch. Excellent service. Quick out, quick in.
Cons: I had a choice between the Sentra and a Chevy Cruze. I should have taken the Cruze. The Sentra was a very very basic model, hardly any features. Manual seats. Zero pickup. But that's mostly on me and certainly no reflection of Enterprise's exemplary customer service.

Local great, national not great
Pros: The local agents were helpful, responded to issues and managed resolution at their level. Thank you. Rely on your local agents for everything and give them more funding. The corporate level is not helpful.
Cons: Your national level "1-800" customer service needs improvement. You failed to give me an accurate local agency phone number. You tried to bill me extra costs for a pre-paid rental, due to change in my flight itinerary that resulted in me using the car for less time than what I paid for. Retarded. Your policy driven response to everything is not customer friendly. Simply refer all customers DIRECTLY to the local agent they'll be dealing with and all will work out well. But your corporate level customer service made me not want to use Alamo again. Fortunately for you, your local agents redeemed Alamo name.

The dollar amount for the rental initially was ok (reserved on-line thru Kayak.) However, when I went to pick up the vehicle at Alamo, the overall price was lower by about $130. Nice surprise. (Not certain why ordering online would be more expensive though).

Cons: I needed to cancel my rental car and was charged $10 to do so. In addition, the individuals I talked with were very rude and were going to charge $10/gallon to fill the car up. I have never experienced such a high price for the company to fill the car up with gasoline. I will remember this experience and likely will not return.

Cons: They called me while my flight was landing and left a message saying my reservation wasn't going to be honored. I ended up stranded in Greenville until I found a taxi willing to drive me the 80 miles home.

Pros: The staff at GSP Alamo were beyond kind and helpful! They could not have been any more pleasant. They all tried to help with anything the best they could. We traveled with three kiddos and they were understanding and patient with us. The car we received was perfect as well! Very nice. Nothing bad to say! Would definitely rent from here again!

Cons: The car was suppose to be mid size but wasn't. It was very unsafe and needed an alignment . It felt like I was in a golf cart on the highway. I took it back early because it was so unsafe to drive.

Cons: The car smelled..no REEKED..of cigarettes. Someone didn't charge the $250 fine for smoking in the vehicle I guess. Also the tires had limited tread and the vehicle was all over the highway. What an awful experience.

Pros: I changed my arrival time to a small airport from noon to midnight and the office remained open until my flight arrived and I picked up my baggage. I think it was last flight of the evening for the airport and the desk stayed open beyond normal closing time.

Pros: The car was absolutely disgusting inside I wish I could upload the pictures and show. I let the staff member know and all she said is that she’ll write down a note. Didn’t take the time to look at the car or anything. Specially with Covid 19 you’d think they sanitize and clean the car right. And I just noticed they have overcharged my card by $90. I made sure I cleaned the car out and sanitized and fueled up before I dropped it off.

Ironically, there was a car convention going on. A complete lack of planning by corporate! And, the pick-up trucks, the cheapest, had just arrived THAT day and the lone employee had to literally remove the plastic, connect antenna, etc, which doubled reservation time. Will never use Dollar again. They are cheap for a reason.

Pros: I was glad to get an upgrade to a truck because I really ended up needing it! It also snowed the last day I was in town so it made me feel more secure while driving. The Dodge Ram was incredibly nice inside and out. The staff that rented it to me and received it back were super-friendly and efficient.

Pros: The service from the staff was wonderful. The shuttle driver was especially helpful, checking us in and getting us to the terminal quickly when we were running late.
Cons: The office is seriously understaffed. One clerk at the counter was multitasking as well as she could but there could have been more staff to make everything run more smoothly.

Pros: The representative, told the car returner in my ear shot that they did not need to have the receipt for gas, only a full indication on gas gauge.
Cons: Manipulative story about having to have a gas receipt with in 2 miles of the rental car office, or suffer additional charges. An awful strategy to force you to purchase the prepaid gas bad deal, or suffer consequences.

Pros: Price sounded good
Cons: They had no car available when I showed up to pick up my vehicle. They only had a pick-up, not a full sized car that I had reserved. Their excuse was that other people had arrived before me and all their cars were now gone. When I asked why my reservation was not held in reserve the representative hung up on me...I had to scramble to find a different company to rent a car at 10 at night at the airport to get me, my husband, daughter, and grandchild on with our vacation. No more Dollar Rentals for me and my family.

You have to call the courtesy phone in order for someone to come and pick you up but you cannot find the courtesy phone anywhere you have to go and find someone who works at the airport and ask them where to get to thrifty rental once you call thrifty on the courtesy phone you have to go back outside stand in the middle of the road and wait for the shuttle to come pick you up and take you to the thrifty location but it states that the location is at the airport which it is not
Pros: I was able to pick up and drop off at 2 different airports.
Cons: Drop off was a nightmare. I still don't know if I was charged correctly or if there were any other problems. I won't use Hertz again following this experience.
Pros: I honestly can say there is not anything to mention for this question. It's offsite from the airport so you have to take a shuttle where as other car rentals are onsite. The shuttle was on par with airport shuttle service, nothing extraordinary, although it wasn't clear where to catch the shuttle. However, the advantage of them being offsite is possibly less taxes but I haven't looked close enough at the receipt to say whether that's true or not or compensates for the extra effort (although it's minimal effort).
Cons: Don't offer me a manager's upgrade when I can see there are no cars in the lot in the class I reserved. Ask me if I would be willing to take the class of vehicle you do have available instead. In other words, don't play the situation like you're doing me a favor when you actually need me to do you a favor. Also don't pitch a truck like it's a good thing when it uses more gas than a car would. When you are on a vacation and sightseeing, a truck isn't good for parking in city spaces. I was asked where I was going so all of this information was known to the agent. If I say I'm willing to wait until my reservation time but you'd rather get me out the door now, don't charge me extra for it. I did accept the extra charge but I would be more likely to give an excellent rating if you didn't try to earn an extra $20 off of me for something I didn't need and told you I didn't need but you tried to sell as money they would probably take back off when I brought it back early anyway. I had no plans to be back early and I said so. What is $20 to a large corporation? It makes me less inclined to rent from Thrifty in the future. Especially, when the quality of the service is not excellent and your competitor is only a few bucks difference. People will pay a few bucks extra when they know excellent service comes with it.
The vehicle could have been cleaned before giving it to me to use. When the door was opened and the floor mat was covered in sand, it was taken around to get it cleaned up and they vacuumed the driver's side mat but didn't bother to check the rest of the vehicle so they had two chances to provide their customer with a clean vehicle and didn't. There was spilt coffee or something like it in the middle console, leftover residue of some kind in the cup holders, garbage tucked in places, etc. To boot, this happened as COVID-19 was ramping up and lots of companies were already sending emails about their cleaning procedures and heightened precautions. Not Thrifty.
Finally, when I brought the vehicle back and was asked how everything was, I said it was fine, although, the vehicle was not clean. It was the same agent that had assisted me when I picked up the vehicle so he knew and said it can't always be done right (essentially, I wish I could remember his exact words now). That was an amazing statement I thought. So he did give me a 10% discount which is a good customer service thing to do, but only if it saves me money. I was still in the end charged more for the rental then I had reserved it for. So again, don't act like you're doing me a solid when you really aren't.

Don't like an exposed back due to luggage and computer - wanted a trunk - i was going to have to upgrade - didn't like that
Pros: I liked the second car that I was given. I had to return the first car bc it wasn’t the size car that I had reserved and the employee refused to give me the correct size car and overcharged me. The employee had 3 verbal altercations that day while I was there with 3 different customers. Ghetto!
Cons: The employee was very rude and very little knowledge about policies and procedures. I was given a smaller car than I rented and charged $60 more than quoted online. Then had no idea the car I was given had expired plates until 2 days later when I was pulled over by the police.

Pros: Staff was great. Was very busy and still kept a sense of humor. We were running late for the airport, as usual, and they got us onto the shuttle and to the airport quickly.

Cons: I ordered a passenger vehicle. I will as given a new truck. It was a very nice truck but it was a very big step up to get into the truck. My problem is that I have arthritis in my hips and this becomes painful
