Overview

In a quiet spot in the centre of Darmstadt, the Best Western Hotel Darmstadt Mitte, Darmstadt, Germany, sits in this science and congress city within walking distance of the centre, offering a breakfast restaurant with a cozy roof garden, quiet rooms, free Wi-Fi, blackout curtains, big desks, three air-conditioned conference rooms and the convention centre close by. The cinemas, theatres, shops and museums of the centre lie within a stroll, with the famous Mathildenhohe artists' hill and the station close by. Frankfurt and its airport are a short S-Bahn ride away. Darmstadt is a Hessian city of science and art, where an early-twentieth-century artists' colony left a remarkable mark. The Mathildenhohe, with its golden-domed wedding tower and elegant old houses, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the State Museum gathers art and natural history nearby, and research institutes give the city a forward-looking buzz. Towers of nearby Frankfurt rise a short ride north, while the wooded Odenwald hills and a wine route begin just to the south.
