Nothing
VERY NOISY! Radiator was jammed full on so room was boiling. Bed was massively uncomfortable with very bad mattress. Hotel had a bad smell. Has a bar/night club that was noisy from when I checked in (17.30) until past 01.00hrs. Reception staff unfriendly on check out. Room was very old, bathroom was cracked and old, taps were faulty, shower was awful. I travel frequently and have stayed in a lot of hotels worldwide and this was a shocker for a European hotel - will not be back!
Nightclub let's it down
Overall room was lovely, clean well kept. Staff friendly but shower didn't work. Location just far enough from the centre. Hotel part fine for the price.
The nightclub let's it down, it is every night and starts late afternoon for happy hour, and goes on until 4am. Heavy security for obvious reasons and you get stopped when going in, so didn't get much sleep. Shame its not restricted to certain nights can understand it at weekends! Unfortunately aimed at students and young people.
Poor facilities Good location
Location and breakfast
There was no hot water and the toilet didn’t flush very easily. And honestly I was rather amused and not annoyed by the drunk men screaming songs out the window at 5:30 in the morning. Probably the only time I was never mad about something like that.
So incredibly loud
Street was so loud, club, loud, legs being banged on the street at 6am. Cleaners banging hoovers and drills being used from 6.30. No sleep. Awful. You need to be drugged or totally drunk to stay here. It's a clip joint. A doss house of a hotel.
Everything.
It was across the road from where we needed to be and really close to the centre, later that night the club next door was awesome! And the next day when me and my friend were feeling a little worse for wear, the breakfast was fantastic! Brilliantly value for money, exactly the sort of place we were looking for and would love to stay again!
It was clean and had beautiful antiques.
There is a night club in the bar and nex door so you really can't sleep until after 3am in the morning.
Loud thumpy music all night. Ceiling cracks, door mangled, dim lighting in room.
Excellent location for nights out in Dublin nightclubs. Excellent breakfast.
It is noisy but ear plugs provided. Don't stay here if you are expecting an early night!
The room was very comfortable and warm, perfect for a cold night.
The breakfast service was a little slow
Clean, very good value and excellent location
When I arrived at 12:30 I was told that I would not be able to check in until after 3pm, which was difficult as I had an appointment elsewhere in Dublin at 2pm
The spacious room and deep sumptuous bath meant we were Totaly relaxed and Happy :)
We had to go home :(
The hotel was beautifully decorated with a really royal feeling to the rooms with high ceilings and beautiful antique looking furniture. We stayed for a concert and only realised when we got there that the venue was about 5 mins up the road! the beds were soooo comfy and everything was so clean it was a pleasure!
the staff were quite rude and demanded a 50 euro deposit for the room which had already been paid for online. When i told the girl on reception this she was quite rude with me and told me it stated it on their website ...when i asked her if it was also on ebookers website which i had used, she could not answer. if i hadnt had my boyfriend with me i would not have had the 50 euro and would have had no room and lost the money i had already paid.
i loved the character of the room. it is a very old building and has retained its original features. furniture style suited also. very spacious room. perfect location if you want to party til 3am in Diceys Bar and fall into bed.
my room was facing onto Diceys Bar. It was loud but the music was good. This is only suited to people who would appreciate late night loud music. However, I presume I got a very good rate because of this.
The room was resplendent, The bar & beer garden were luxurious
Fabulous location, I loved the beer garden (barbecue was a little expensive otherwise but very good). The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, opening up the bar for us, charging mobile phone batteries, etc. Very pleased with the service!
There was noise from the downstairs nightclubs and the Luas tramway just outside. But we were aware of this in advance so we were prepared for it, by going out those nights. The nightclubs are open Thursday, Friday and Saturday - the rest of the week isn't so bad.
The staff were fabulous. Our twin was upgraded to a triple - so my Mum had a fab 4-poster bed to sleep in :-). Breakfast was excellent - plenty of fresh fruit and great selection of breads. Mum really loved the plants and flowers in the bar area / front of hotel etc.
Very minor point - the hot water in bathroom was scalding - and the cold water was hot until the tap had run for several minutes.
Well maintained hotel with lots of character in an excellent position at a sensible price.
The room was very warm and street noise prevented us from opening a window. In addition we only had a thick duvet, a thin sheet would have been much better.
