Lovely atmosphere, great pub, good food, free parking. Nice and quiet location. Small but very cosy rooms wich provide all the basic needs, including free coffee and tea. Our stay at The Kingslodge Inn made our trip to Durham even more enjoyable.
The food was excellent and the city wonderful. A great base to explore and a pleasure to stay at the hotel.
Nothing really! The setting is a bit bland and out the way, but some will like that and it meant it was quiet and peaceful. So no negatives at all really.
The food was particularly good both in quality and quantity.Staff were efficient and polite but not intrusive.
Warm, friendly reception by staff. I asked for an old fashioned sewing kit and was promptly given one. I appreciated the iron and ironing board too!
The restaurant downstairs was fantastic, extremely good value for money and tasty food. The Breakfast were also really good value and tasty. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful allowing us to check in early on a couple of occasions
I felt lucky to get the last room in the hotel
Unfortunately, the last room was sited over the kitchen and was boiling hot even though it was unheated.
This hotel was in an excellent location for walking into Durham. The food was of a very high standard with an interesting evening menu. The staff we some of the best we have experienced when holidaying in the UK.
The room was very hot - could do with air conditioning
quiet location within easy walk of city centre. good breakfast
door locked on our return to hotel at 11pm and an effort involved in getting us let in! there was no information in the room saying what time the outside door was locked Shower difficult to operate
Friendly and efficient service
