Excellent 8.0
Pros: Very attentive helpful owner. Breakfast just the right amount and well cooked. Kitchenette if you want to make your own drinks. Lounge for use of visitors with large TV. Had a homely feel. Lovely secluded spot with short walk to pub/restaurant
Cons: Whilst we didn’t mind - tableware and bedding were a little old fashioned.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Tim is really friendly and accommodating without being intrusive. The location is fantastic , with direct access to the exe valley trail. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a view out onto the garden, where we sat in the evening with a glass of wine. Breakfast was great, with fresh eggs from Tim's lovely chickens.
Cons: Might need clearer directions to ensure that you stay on until the very end of the lane.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The location was secluded the was access to view the estuary. The gardens were well kept the house was warm and clean. Access to a fridge because there was a kitchenette. Breakfast was delicious and the host was friendly and helpful. Free parking.
Cons: 8Needed somewhere to put clothes, like a piece of furniture/ shelf or even a hook behind the bathroom door for clothes while in the shower would be helpful. Toilet roll kept dropping off the holder which needed some attention. Minor things that would make it perfect.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Location was great. We didn’t require a cooked breakfast , but cereal & toast fine
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.0

Excellent 9.0
Pros: The staff are very helpful and go the extra mile and unfailingly pleasant. Good choice for breakfast. Waffles especially welcome! The bar prices are reasonable and the food good value.
Cons: Nothing really - covid restrictions clearly causing some minor supply issues but staff coped well with them.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: could have been a bit more cleaner , needs some sort of request system if needed like toilet rolls ,and or fresh sheets . like a card on the door.
Cons: it was fine for the price and location
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The hotel was great and for one evening a pleasant stay.
Cons: Its hard to find the first time.
Good 7.0
Pros: Room OK, breakfast was good, staff were very good
Cons: Rooms not being cleaned due to covid (mould around shower tap) hair dryer had a label saying dangerous do not use (pat test), hotel is a bit out of the way and difficult to access on foot
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staff very helpful and friendly, room clean and fresh, will be using again great value for money
Excellent 9.0
Pros: What I like about this hotel is that the open space downstairs is immense, and you simply don't find this in many hotels.
Cons: Coffee from the machine wasn't great but I do tend to live on Starbucks!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beds super comfy. Staff nice and friendly.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: very good breakfast. Clean comfortable room.
Cons: Liked bar. Would have been nice to have a pool.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Staff, comfort, quality of breakfast, and free parking.
Cons: When busy getting breakfast is quite stressful. Always several items, food or cups etc are running out. Suggest you miss Saturday and Sunday mornings....far to stressful a way to start your day.
Good 6.9
Good 6.0
Pros: Staff were great
Cons: Good really needs to be worked on. Considering there is no other place to eat for miles the offering was shocking especially for veggies. No air con in the gym so was a bit warm.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Very friendly staff. Perfect stopover on way to Cornwall
Good 7.0
Pros: Electric charging points
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Our room was one of 4’purpose built’ additions to the original inn. Small-but perfectly formed-double and a single bed with en-suite bathroom. Shower produced lovely hot water at good pressure (something we love😀). The room was serviced daily and towels replaced each day. Hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities available and iron available. Free WiFi-excellent and brand new TV. Breakfast additional cost (£6 continental, £9.95 full English) both plentiful, very well cooked/presented and as much tea/coffee as you like. We had dinner one evening which was reasonably priced, freshly cooked and delicious.
Cons: Nothing at all
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Good value, clean, friendly, excellent breakfast, own outside door, car park, 5 mins walk to station.
Cons: Nothing

Excellent 10.0
Pros: The room was very comfortable and accessible ( i stayed with my son who has walking difficulty). I was given a ground floor room near the garden. We enjoyed our evening meal outside in the garden, food was excellent.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Breakfast good, Location excellent
Cons: The weather was exceptionally hot which meant the room was quite stuffy even with a Dyson fan provided. Not sure if there is anything that could be done about this, hard to know whether or not it would be a problem in more usual summer weather.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: It was very comfortable and in a central location, had a good restaurant and helpful staff. No parking but only a 5 minute walk to a very well priced car park.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Breakfast was good, could really do with some fresh fruit.
Cons: All good
Excellent 10.0
Pros: the room was gorgeous, we had a room that was up the stairs and the view outside was lovely. the staff who checked us in were really helpful and chatty. We didn't eat at the restaurant but we did have drinks one evening and the bar was lovely and packed with lots of Devon gins which went down a treat. Location was fantastic, everything in Topsham was within walking distance. Would definitely stay again.
Cons: Nothing was bad, the whole stay was fantastic.
Poor 1.0
Cons: Rude staff and over charged me

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Very helpful staff. Very friendly and as efficient as possible, despite the covid restrictions and demanding guests. They were 5 star!
Cons: Children running in the corridors every night and dogs barking throughout. Not the hotel, but very inconsiderate guests.
Good 6.0
Pros: Couldn't fault the staff in any way.
Cons: First room had a blocked sink second room had blood in it, third was ok but had clothes behind the furniture and wasnt clean and lots of little bugs in it, staff was helpful. I stay in alot of these each year in England travelling and they are normally 10 out of 10 unfortunately this one was probably the worst, also parking was very expensive after paying so much to stay there anyway. Used breakfast was slow replacing and run out quickly
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Eggs for breakfast, more crockery and cutlery
Cons: Paying for car park
Okay 5.0
Cons: No temperature control in the room
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Value for money, friendly staff, clean
Cons: Breakfast was a bit bare - no eggs, cold sausages, ran out of orange juice and strange tasting coffee
Good 6.0
Pros: Location and price was good for us.
Cons: Tired and a little dated.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Size of room, friendly & helpful staff, good atmosphere in bar.
Cons: Breakfast
Good 6.0
Pros: The location to the town centre was perfect , even though there was construction work going on across the road , no noise at the hotel disrupting the stay, m5 motorway not to far away .
Cons: The air conditioning was perfect , the lounge , bar areas where always clean and tidy ,
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Clean, modern, close to shops/centre, good value, discounted parking
Cons: Nothing Didn’t eat there so unable to review that
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Clean room, comfortable bed, plenty of pillows, staff unfailingly friendly and helpful
Cons: The aircon in my room developed a fault and stopped working but the man working on Reception responded very promptly and I was given an upgrade to a different room immediately, which was much appreciated!
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The hotel is very close to the centre. What I like most about it is that it is very quiet. Our room was comfortable and had air condition. The price was so ok. I can’t say anything about the breakfast as we booked a room only.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: We stayed in an executive suite which had a large comfortable king bed and there were great views from the windows. The hotel is very close to town and there is a large car park behind so it is extremely well located.
Cons: No decaf coffee or tea at the Costa cafe/bar area.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything was as it should be. Clean rooms and shared areas, friendly well presented staff who were happy to help.
Cons: Nothing to complain about on this visit. I expect to be back.

Good 7.0
Pros: Location was ideal we had 3 lovely beach days in nearby Exmouth and Sidmouth. Terrace bar/restaurant had beautiful views and was a lovely place to watch the sunset. Teenagers enjoyed the pool. Beds were comfortable.
Cons: There was no air conditioning in the rooms just a fan, we stayed during a very hot spell and it was uncomfortable, generally the rooms could do with being brought up to date especially the bathrooms, get rid of the pathetically tiny bath and get a decent shower cubicle save flooding the floor with the powerful shower. Restaurant very limited selection and slightly disorganised. I’m sure it was advertised with breakfast included on booking.com but turns out it wasn’t so had to pay extra for it.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staff were excellent, friendly ,welcoming
Excellent 8.0
Cons: Blind let in too much light
Good 6.0
Pros: Good breakfast
Cons: No air conditioning in our room couldn't sleep !
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Nice setting overlooking golf course
Cons: Dinner menu limited as clubhouse was used because restaurant in main hotel was not open
Okay 4.0
Pros: Great location, fabulous golf course
Cons: Double ‘luxury’ room description- the fact that it had a balcony does not make it ‘luxury’. The room was not very big, neither was the double bed. No air con, so during this heat wave it was hot and stuffy. Arrived Sunday, Monday morning breakfast was told, ‘no yogurt, no tomatoes, no baked beans, no ham, no granary bread’ ???????, we then went out for the day came home and room hadn’t been touched, no bed made, no refreshments replenished, no bathroom/toilet cleaned, no clean towels. Needed to go to reception to complain to be told that we had to ‘request’ clean towels and room won’t be serviced due to Covid restrictions 😡. Couldn’t book any Spa treatment at all for Tuesday, completely booked up (the day my partner was playing golf, and I was going to have a nice relax), & the pool was like getting into a hot bath, highly unpleasant. They definitely need to get their act together, not the nice relaxing few days we expected. The staff were apologetic but that that wore thin with the weak excuses, blaming Covid. We paid £801 for 4 nights and breakfast- rip off. (That didn’t include the golf) 😬
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Room Breakfast ok
Cons: More menu choice
Excellent 9.0
Cons: Out dated bathroom.
Good 7.0
Pros: Unfortunately the food lets Woodbury Park down. They ran out of porridge and fruit salad at breakfast which wasn’t good. The choice of evening meals is very limited with no change of menu at all, consequently you can easily run out of options that you like.
Cons: The room was very nice spacious and clean. The location is excellent for visiting the local area. We also enjoyed the peace and quiet of the hotel. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, we also had a lovely waitress at breakfast named Toni
Good 6.0
Pros: Great location and facilities.
Cons: Restaurant wasn’t great.Choice of food limited at dinner, long wait at breakfast.

Pros: Excellent dinner and breakfast. Pleasant building and grounds
Cons: Room aircon difficult to set and lighting confusing
Poor 1.0
Pros: Everything except my neighbours!
Cons: I was unable to sleep due to the couple in the room next door arriving drunk in their room at 12ish and running their music system at full tilt till the desk porter kindly managed to wake them and stop the noise at 3.30 am. Torture!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The quality of the place.
Cons: The room was well appointed but small.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Relaxing, clean, Covid safe Pool and outside space was a big hit Doggy friendly
Cons: Nothing!

Good 6.0
Pros: Breakfast was fine
Cons: One member of staff was quiet rude
Excellent 8.0
Pros: All good
Cons: More outside space,to chill
Mediocre 3.0
Pros: The breakfast was the worst I’ve had in any hotel, £12 no way , awful
Cons: One sachets of coffe, one teabag, no aircon during a heat wave , pool not open till 12am and £15 for parking Poor poor never again and I’ve spent a lot in Mercures over the years
Good 6.0
Pros: Vey helpful staff
Cons: The quality of service is hugely affected by covid making the stay rather expensive when the breakfast is very limited and there being no cleaning of the room except on request
Okay 5.0
Pros: Air con down nobody’s fault but apparently down for days which isn’t acceptable
Cons: As above
Mediocre 3.0
Pros: Breakfast was ok
Cons: Room was not clean, the expelair in the bathroon didn't work. The shower plug was broken and didn't drain well. There was a smell of drugs in the corridor when we returned to our room after dinner.
Okay 4.0
Pros: The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was OK.
Cons: The hotel needs to be refurbished. The furniture is old, the walls are dirty and the chipped skirting boards desperately need to be painted. The sofa bed in our family room was awful, old and dirty. The pillows had yellow marks on them, the room wasn't ready when we checked in, so we've seen them before someone came to change the sheets and covers.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The staff were friendly. The facilities were excellent and my room was clean and comfy! After a horrendous stay at another mecure in Bristol with the most pathetic apology going I was really nervous about staying at the exeter hotel. I was unable to change my stay as I needed to be in Exeter I can honestly say you wouldn't know the two hotels we're part of the same chain and this hotel was just perfect... when I needed to add a day on to my trip it was stress free and they managed to accommodate me without having to lug all my stuff to another room! Made a very stressful week less hassle and I even managed to get a swim in!
Cons: Bedside lamp broke and TV was slightly dated and hard to use.... didnt really affect stay though
Excellent 9.7
Pros: location very close to city centre, but no traffic noise.Lovely spacious comfortable room
Cons: I arrived by train so didn't need the car park ,but I would not have liked having to pay to park.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Smart and clean with excellent facilities and friendly/helpful staff
Cons: Nothing - all was good!

Pros: Gypsy Hill Hotel has space in abundance. It’s position - it’s like it’s a secre!
Cons: It’s tired and needs a real quality makeover to bring everything into 21st century. There is ample for a very spacious spa to be built in the ample grounds, including a decent sized swim pool
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Food was excellent and good portions, bed very comfy. Suited my needs very well except I kept getting lost in the car and my sat-nav wasn’t working adequately. Very relaxing stay.
Cons: Not your fault, but hard to find.
Good 7.0
Pros: Dinner was excellent from a reduced menu Breakfast was very good Room was clean and good shower
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Nice and clean, comfortable beds lovely meals.
Cons: Everything was fine.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Covid precautions very good. Large comfortable room. Helpful and friendly staff. Good food and drink.
Cons: Nothing strikes me.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Room was spacious, and the hotel itself is very spacious with lots of different areas to sit in
Cons: Breakfast was nice on 1st morning then it went downhill, bacon overcooked and dry sausage all shrivelled and one morning I ordered poached eggs on toast, eggs were hard, husband ordered scrambled egg he left it said it was undercooked referred it to baby food. 2 mornings we sat at least 7 minutes before order was taken, while 3 other couples who entered the dining room after us had their orders taken, but put this down to staff having to serve meals, rather than self service
Good 6.0
Pros: Quiet room in bungalow away from main hotel, comfy bed, good size en-suite bathroom, adequate sized bedroom, friendly staff, good breakfast, airy breakfast room with good views over garden, lovely seating areas outside and inside main hotel.
Cons: Bungalow was under going renovations, wires hanging down in corridor near our room door, outside door to bungalow not secure, would not lock, slight smell of mustiness in room, no kettle for hot drinks.
