Overview

Beside Piazza De Ferrari in the centre of Genoa, the Best Western Plus City Hotel, Genoa, Italy, is a comfortable hotel with large, elegant rooms and suites, free Wi-Fi, and a quiet, welcoming feel, a step from the opera house and the Palazzo Ducale. The grand central squares, theatres and palaces sit right outside the door, and the lanes of the old town and the harbour are within easy reach. The famous aquarium and the old port lie a short walk away through the alleys. Genoa is Liguria's great seafaring city, where steep stone lanes tumble down to a historic harbour. One of Europe's largest aquariums anchors the revamped old port today, the grand palaces of the UNESCO-listed Strade Nuove and Palazzi dei Rolli recall the city's mercantile wealth, and the Italian Riviera unfurls along the coast toward Portofino. Seafood trattorias and focaccia bakeries fill the narrow caruggi lanes nearby.
