Pros:I came over to do hiking and trail running and this hotel is perfectly located on Wan Chai Gap Rd just below Bowen Rd fitness trail. It also has good access to the trails around the reservoirs, the Hong Kong Trail, and the Wilson Trail, as well as frequent buses and trams on Queens Rd East and the MTR nearby. The room was a comfortable size but not large. Our bathroom and shower were spacious and the TV is on a swivel so we could view it from the couch or the bed. The dining table doubled as a work desk and the free private wifi (on a per-room basis) was very convenient, much better than needing to log into a hotspot each day. The kitchen/laundry is small but perfectly suited to an active couple who want to cook a few breakfasts and also eat out. Our apartment also had a full-sized fridge with freezer, for our milk, beer, and mochi ice!
Cons:The services guide doesn't explain where facilities are, but you'll find the gym on the lobby level, and access to the terrace through the gym (or directly off the lobby) – grab a free coffee from reception on your way through! Our taxi driver was convinced he couldn't drive up Wan Chai Gap Rd, so we walked up from Queens Rd East. I saw other taxis doing the same, but I also saw taxis coming out of the street and the sign said you could drive in to access properties. It would be ideal if staff could explain this in the hotel description so future guests will know what to tell our taxi driver.
