Taksim Line Hotel

I liked that they tried. The failed, but it was a very strong effort. The location was all that I can say was good.

The two things that really blew this experience for me were two unadvertised hotel policies: no visitors & no outside food. While in Istanbul, I met a friend of a friend. They disallowed him from coming to my room, even to get my coat. They said first that it was because I had only paid for single occupancy (the friend was not occupying the room). After I returned from dinner, the front desk agent told me it was for my safety because someone in another hotel had been murdered. If you hope to have visitors, don't stay at this hotel. Second, there was a sign telling guests that outside food was not allowed. I found that to be completely rude & a simple attempt to get me to eat from the snack/drink bar in the room. The room was small, but not tiny. The blanket had a stain on it. The panel above the door was coming off. There were cracks in the tile in the bathroom. The thing that angered me the most: I had turned on the "do no disturb" sign. Despite this, house keeping entered my room and cleaned. I did not want the service.
